it really does seem like UK never gets away with those ticky tack travels, reaches, fouls, etc.

And they are also a young team that will probably be playing even better defense by the end of the season. Just like our team. Duke will improve and will be walloping teams by Feb. Especially with how physical they get to play without a tight whistle on their best players.
Saying that they will play "even better defense" by the end of the season implies that they are playing good defense now. They aren't. It's awful.

You people who think Duke can go undefeated might actually be insane. They play no defense.
Thank goodness somebody else can see it....I was starting to think I was imagining things. Allen & Carter are BAD defenders. Trent Jr is below average and Duval gambles a ton and gets caught out of position routinely. Also I like Bilas but at the end of the game him arguing essentially "they didn't play D for 37 minutes tonight but they did play D for the most important 3 minutes so that is really showing us something" is pathetic.

Do you need to play good defense when you are protected like Achilles ....minus the whole achilles weakness thing?

Duke will lose in conference on the road at some point. If Bagley gets in foul trouble or has an off night, Duke will be in trouble. The same can be said of Kentucky in regards to Kevin Knox.

I'm under the impression that 40-0 isn't quite as difficult as people make it out to be, WHEN you have the NBA talent. Let me frame that statement a bit better by saying Instead of it being a 0.0005% chance.. I think it's 0.05%. It's so unlikely to happen.

But there were a few Kentucky teams that, had mean ol' Cal not been the coach and had the officials not tried to bring us down to our competitions level.. yeah I think they could have gone 40-0. 2010, 2012, and 2015 were essentially young NBA teams. Not even your greatest Kansas, Uconn, Florida and UNC teams can say that. Only recently can Duke make that claim.

You get these teams with NBA talent on 3 or 4 positions, and you can get through the early games while they get acclimated, I really don't think it's that impossible. If you have the NBA talent, it can be done. You throw in helpful officiating, as opposed to hurtful officiating, and you add a monstrous advantage.

I still don't think it happens.. But it would really be nice for Duke to get a loss now when they still haven't figured everything out..

It's like WWE wrestling. The guy that started the BBALL thread on losing interest. Don't blame him. I question myself why I am even watching it anymore. Duke and UNC get favortism and it's not even hidden.
I don't watch games they are in. It's just too obvious and frustrating and I ain't getting myself worked up anymore over it. It's blatant and shameful that it is allowed to go on.

Coach K started coaching the officials and stopped coaching his team and they started to take over. You can't breathe on Bagley without a foul being called.

He initiates contact every time and it's always a foul the on the other team.

It's shameful.

Makes zero sense.

The 2nd part isn't needed. It doesn't matter what plays Duke "made", when the refs helped them out.

that's your opinion man. the refs killed to flow of the game for sure but duke make some tough shots and clutch plays. but it's cool if you disagree

The chicken wings to get position around the interior defender with no call is the new Duke flop with no call. [sick]

I believe Duke has been outplayed in 3 straight games, but they won all 3. It is funny that when the game was on the line from the 12 minute mark to the 2 minute mark, the fouls were 11-5 in favor of Duke, of course. You could make a case that the fouls should have been reversed if it was a fair game & the refs had not been compromised. Game was totally fixed.

Game was called fairly overall. There was no home IU whistle as you might expect. Grayson Allen wills this team to victory and he did again tonight.

IU would have done way better id Davis could shoot free throws.

I did not watch. Did Mike Eades play? Ayers? Duke has a deep bench? Teddy Vee?

And as to Carter fouling out, the right people will hear about this. I have watched numerous games over the years with Dukies with 4 fouls and they keep on playing even after obvious fouls.

The officiating was bad. That one call against Morgan on Bagley was one of the worst I've ever seen. We played well though and if it wasn't for a bad free throw shooting night and 5-21 from 3 we win. The future is very bright with Archie Miller.

Seems like I heard that after Clappy actually got a couple fluke wins at home in 11-12. You might wait until something more impressive than hanging around awhile with a team in Bloomington before declaring a very bright future. Indiana State was just three weeks ago.

I'm not saying we're back. But we have a very good coach and are getting better every game. We'll be back next season if we land Romeo. If not in year 3.

I do think you have an upgrade in coaching. As for Langford, many around Nashville think he has already committed to Vandy. He wanted to play with Garland and Shittu.

Duke is a great team and will contend for the national title...but after 2015, some posters on here will have little man syndrome when it comes to them until the end of time. Duke could have a team like Piarist and we could have Oak Hill, yet some would say "Duke is going 40-0"...now, is that the case this year? Hell no, they are legit. But come March, we will be too. Our team is young and will take some lumps but we have the pieces. I am just gonna do what Coach Cal says and enjoy the ride.
They would be in a position to contend for a title even if they had a mediocre team by their standards. The corrupt NCAA would make sure of that. I can't enjoy the ride when I know the NCAA is going to throw out spike strips in front of UK while giving Duke and UNC*** exclusive rights to use the fast lane.

Duke really could go undefeated. I looked at their schedule and they only play Louisville, Syracuse, and Notre Dame at home. Their only tough road games are at Miami and UNC and I'm not sure either of them is that great. But maybe my Purple Aces will knock them off right before Christmas :).

Yeah their ACC schedule favors them a bit.

It's still going to be massively difficult.

This team does remind me of our great teams of 10,12 and 15.

But as many here love pointing out.........two of those teams did not win titles.

So Duke might cruise through this regular season, but I wouldn't ship them the trophy just yet.

I’m not sure there’s a “right” team to root for. I suppose... maybe? IU as Archie doesn’t seem completely terrible yet but the IU fans make it hard for me to even stomach that thought.

Duke = ******* awful

Maybe just not watch ?

They are nothing like our 10, 12, and 15 teams. Those were great teams on the defensive end.

Duke is amazing in its ability to control the refs, the media; everything! Over the past month, the only place I read incessant infatuation about duke and it’s faborable officiating is here. Not one article in any major publication mentions that the refs had any impact, in fact some felt Carter fouled out on cheapies. Same with the orevuius four games. Which tells me eithe duke is more powerful than Trump and is Putinesque I It’s albioutu to control both the NCAA and the entire news media except Rupps Rafters or it tells me something else

Kinda like Allen's push-off/flail to make the contact and then act like he was fouled. Bagley did it as well, as did Duval. It's well known that this is the style K teaches - to slyly make the contact and then flop to give the impression they were fouled and to deceive the referees. Last night Allen did this and the non-Bilas announcer even said "ohhh, looks like he got away with a push off there", only to be followed up by Bilas to talk about how awesome Allen is for drawing contact when he has the ball.

Makes me want to puke.

Back to what? Hanging Round of 32 banners and cutting down nets for conference 2nd place?

Some of you guys are going to give yourselves ulcers by continuing to watch their games. Especially if Bilas is calling it. Has he done every one or games this year? Ridiculous.
