Duke vs. Gonzaga

I still maintain that we didn’t really push Duke that night and if we had they would have found another gear most likely.

So I don’t want a Duke win Saturday to make me feel like we played the #1 team to within 8 points opening night.

What I want is a Duke loss Saturday to make refs feel like Duke doesn’t have a perfect record they need to help protect.

It is crazy isn't it. The Zags are not and have never been a threat to UK but Duke is a different story. I never pull for Duke. When UL plays Duke I just ignore that game.

Surprised that Gonzaga is favored by 8.5 points. Thought it would have been a narrower spread.

Personally, I think we should have pressed the **** out of them. Then go to a zone in the half court. I think that’s would’ve put us in the winners column.

Would have loved to have seen that. I’m not saying we couldn’t have beaten them that night. Just that I don’t think we would have beaten them with only 9 more points.

This Kentucky team, I believe, has the potential by tournament time to have six or seven players capable of putting up 20+ on any given game depending on where the opponent chooses to focus their defense. This is reminds me of the '78 championship team, though not as physical, tough, or driven. I recall Coach Hall being asked, Coach, what kind of year has it been? Joe B, replied (paraphrased) It's been horrible. Right now we're 28 and 2 (from memory) and if we lose tonight we've had a bad year. That's pressure. And they beat Duke for the championship. Duke shut down our bigs and the Goose was Golden. Hope it happens again.

Zags all day, Id rather see them go undefeated than continue to here about IU being the last team to do it. Id hate to see any other blue blood go undefeated before we do. I don't see the Zag's with the same hatred as I do the traditional blue bloods.

I picked them too. I knew duke would be prepared for this game. I also knew they’d get a damn favorable whistle. Plus, they could match the Zags’ big front line. Also, this duke team is much better than UCLA or Texas right now.

I love the certainty some of you posted with regarding Zaga taking the Dukies out.

You'd think Duke wasn't being coached by the game's best coach in the modern era, playing with a potential #1 overall pick, with a team that has all the pieces for a serious run.

Coach K is taking home #6 this year. The best thing we can all do is proclaim it and add to the pressure cooker that will come with them being the #1 team going into the tournament.
