Last game before the showdown. Pretty sure y’all have one more. Will definitely watch. We have to scout each other.
First scouting tip would be Duke needs build an actual team. I don't think being the first 3 man team in CBB is going to go too well.

They won the D2 title last year. Duke looks much better this game, not facing a zone has much to do with it, looks like Barrett has worked on that three. Zion is as good as I figured he’d be, Reddish has finally found his motor. Man Nov 6 is going to be a game

Rebounding has been a issue for Duke this game and last game (Bolden is trash) which plays into Kentucky’s strength

You can see a huge difference when Trae Jones is off the floor. The three other freshmen at clearly better but he’s the most important. Barrett can bring the ball up but he’s not setting anyone up, he is looking to score first second and third (he’s good at it). Cutting off drives against him and Zion will be key since neither look to shoot midrange. Taking charges vs those two would be big as well.

I see the freshman playing almost every single minute of the game since the drop off is huge when Duke goes to the bench (JD and Alex can hang but JD isn’t a offensive threat other than hustle baskets)

Cal will likely guard Zion like he guarded Julius Randle and Lou Roe in practice since they are very similar

I have to admit sir, you know what you’re talking about. I agree 100%. Jones is the most important player for this Duke team. I am encouraged that the three point shooting is going to be much better than many expected. Especially from Barrett

This team reminds me of the Jabari Parker, Rodney Hood team. Not as good of a shooting team but better defense and better individual scorers. Very interested in what they do when they can’t out run, out athlete and our talent a team. Can see bumps like lastvyears UK team due to learning how to score when they can do those things vs teams

I still have UK by 10 vs Duke unless they play the same way next Friday that they played yesterday. I know Cal has them going hard in practice after what he said when interviewed after the game

Don't agree with that comparison at all. There are zero players from the Jabari Parker team that resemble what Zion does out there. That team also didn't have a point guard with the passing and court vision of Jones. Quinn Cook was fine (especially the following year) but at no point did he bring the court vision and passing instincts that Jones has. The closest comparison is Amile Jefferson with Javin Delaurier, but Javin is far a superior athlete. There is also no equivalent to Bolden on that Duke team. This Duke team has many pieces and brings variety off the bench.

Bolden is actually looking better. Doesn’t look like trash anymore, looks like a average Big now

Undersized, rebounding issues and a couple other small things. From scouting I learned to look at other things besides the obvious, but your welcome to your opinion, not going to argue about that

For Boldens size he isn’t that strong. This is a good game to getvhis confidence going since he won’t fave any bigs or guards half as bad as the players on the Ferris team. I suspect he has close to no impact Vs Kentucky

Undersized? Compared to 2014? Besides Jones, the rest of the starting lineup is at least 6'7. Bolden is not undersized. Duke had no player like Bolden on that team. Williamson's freakish athleticism also minimizes size concerns.

This team is probably going to routinely switch on just about everything on defense. That doesn't happen if there are size concerns.

PJ guarding Barrett will be interesting. Has a chance to give him issues but thought ge same when USA played Canada. Likely will take good team defense to slow him down
