I know right. Literally there is poster above this post who said" welp thats a wrap LMAO . WTF are people smoking ? He might go to DUke , He might go to UK . No one knows really. The 2 things we do seem to know reasonably is A. His parents favor Duke and B. At least until recently Bolden favored UK but was worried about playing time . So who knows where is he going but it ain't over and If I was betting I would bet on Cal and UK . Especially with Allen and Jefferson coming back to duke.

Wrong as usual.

Correct me if I am wrong. But haven't most of the kids whose parents call the shots for their kids, end up being slight busts anyways? Has there ever been a case where a UK recruit's parents wanted them at UK and the recruit wanted to go somewhere else?

Mostly parent controlled kids end up being kinda softies.

Exactly. It's a totally different mentality. If a recruit *truly* (because I still wonder if his parents are this involved) is being swayed by his parents wants and needs, then Kentucky isn't the school for him. That's what Duke is for, to get shielded and protected.

Thank you for the information. Any indication as to whether Calipari is still planning on adding another big man for this class?
No our roster is pretty much set. I just hope briscoe and Lee are on it

Why not go after another big man? I'm assuming Calipari doesn't want to risk a repeat of last year's thin frontcourt. Thanks.

I'm not hearing anything from my sources. Nothing. Which usually isn't a very good sign.

Do you even read, caneintally? At all?

I said "IF" that is true, then it is a wrap.

Yes I got that but it doesn't make that any less silly. Because someone is visiting someone else doesn't mean much either way. We just can't know. Mind you I would laugh just as hard at someone saying " well that's a lock we got him as K must be begging me not to go to UK "

It was a hypothetical, Cane. If his sources are correct, then there is no silliness.

Why worry about Lee? He adds nothing.

The loss of Bolden could mean the difference between a title or not.
Lee is very important as with him we will have alot of depth and he has a ton of experience. Just because someone isn't a star doesn't mean he doesn't have value. If we add Bolden then Lee wouldn't matter as much but without Bolden lee is vital as it would look like this

C- Bam/HUmphries/Tai
PF- Gabriel/SKJ/Lee
SF- Willis/Matthews

that's the sole reason I want Bolden - SO bam and Gabriel can play their true spots ( PF and SF ) .

Either way not a big deal as I was just commenting more how people live and die with each example I wasn't really trying to point to you per se I could of used a ton of different responses yours was just the first I saw , Sorry if it bothered you for some reason.

From my guy in Lexington-

Cal not going to visit Bolden at this point. No one at UK thinks UK is an option for him.

He will commit to Duke after Hoop Summit.
I hope he knows that he will be there to rebound and defend. With that roster, the 5 will be the last option on the offensive end. Tatum, Giles, Allen, Thornton, Jackson, Kennard, Jones. Heck, he might be behind Jefferson who barely has an offensive pulse.

While I don't love the idea as Hump being our only"true" Center, how is our front court thin, at least to the extent of last years?

Where is this coming from??

-Skal, who really didn't do much for us, and actually hurt us a lot in the early going
-Poythress, who had tons of talent but disappeared. Was very underwhelming as a senior. Didn't lead

+SKJ
+Gabriel
+Bam
+Willis, a stretch 4, or big 3, with a TON of more confidence and another off-season.
+Matthews, a 2/3 with another year under his belt. Lots of energy and hustle.
+Hump, Another year. More conditioning, will actually be 18 now.
+Lee, Senior, hasn't been great, still is a body, still can block shots and dunk.

How on earth can we be worse than last year. This has been my theme for the last 2 weeks. There is no way we have the same front court issues we had last year.

No bother at all, just wanted to clarify it. It's just you used my quote without adding the "if" to it.

He will be behind Jefferson . I do think Thornton might transfer as he ain't playing next year with all those guards. Bolden is making a mistake if he goes to Duke but so be it as I love our team either way.

My main concern is that Adebayo doesn't have to play the 5, as I think he'd be more effective at the 4. I don't think the frontcourt will be as bad as this past year, I'd just like to see another back to the basket player. I do think Humphries could develop into a starter at center with Adebayo at PF. Then you could have Killeya-Jones and Willis off the bench, with Wynyard providing spot minutes if necessary. I'd just rather have another player so there is less reliance on Humphries developing a lot in the offseason.

Appears that ship has sailed, caneintally. Unfortunate for the winningest program in the history of college sports as it is...
Maybe , maybe not as we all remember how a day before Murray committed to UK he was LOCK for Oregon or 2 days before Bam committed to UK he was a lock for NC St. You never know where kids are going and things change and especially alot of the rumors turn out to be dead wrong . Anyone remember the big thing with Murray was the fact he didn't want the spot light so we was going to Oregon LMAO . No kid loved the spot light more . I just care where the kid ends up not all the rumors.

With Allen returning, Jefferson for experience, Bolden's size/skill and Giles/Tatum.....Duke's gonna be NASTY next year.

I'm actually glad that the target will not be squarely on UK's young team, but damn we'll have to go through them in the tourney.

I have similar feelings. But lets be clear a front court of Bam/Gabriel/SKJ/Willis/Hump/lee/Tai is a top 5 front court as that is 4 future 1st rounders and a few guys who could play pro maybe as well. BUT without another true center Bam will be a the 5 and Gabriel will be at the 4 which isn't what they are truly but if that is what we go with so be it .

I remember, caneintally, though BAM's love for the Wolfpack had started fading several weeks before he committed to UK. The JM to Oregon bandwagon was bursting at the seams.

As coach says, Uk isn't for everyone & that includes the parents. If they or he doesn't want to be here, just commit & get it over with. Enjoy watching the Allen, Tatum, kennard show jacking up shots.

Lee showed his worth this season........& it wasn't much. He has zero offensive skills, is a horrible free throw shooter, does nothing but foul on defense. The only thing he is.......is a body. Oh he may get a rebound once in a while or block a shot, but against any decent center..........he is exposed

The only place we would see Duke in the tourney is in the championship game, after we go through Mich St, Kansas, Nova, Miami. And Duke plays Alaska St, Monroe Collage, Mississippi Valley state, and Southland, the first two games will be in Camron Indoor of course !!

Lee will get you 7 pts and 7 rebs a game . How is that bad ? LOL . He is good player . Nothing more , nothing less. To not want him on this team is insane . He won't play ahead of Bam , Gabriel , SKJ or even Humphries IMO but he will play . Also leadership is big and he will be a senior.

Lee and Hump will be very solid players next season. Bam and SKJ will be the centerpieces.

I sure hope your right! I really think the addition of Bolden would further solidify this class and sure up (or shore up whichever is more grammatically correct, since the grammar police are hard at work on these forums!) our only apparent weakness. Having a true 5 would allow Bam to work at the 4 and not have to worry as much about double teams, ala Randle. Just my opinion, but either way, I wish the kid would just do something! I'm tired of refreshing this site and KSR 20 times a day waiting on the decision of 17 year old! lol.

That's the life of a UK fan. Better just get used to it.

Duke will be a lot more loaded if they add Bolden. He is the key. If they had him, they will be far more loaded than any team next year. There will be other good teams but none will come close to Puke. As much as I hate to say that, it is the reality. Like our extremely loaded team of 2015, it doesn't mean they will cut down the nets but they will be stacked next year. We will have talent but it's young talent again and you just never know how it's going to work out. I like our team but we will struggle at times.

Actually it was 6 and 6. ..

Lee??? Leadership?? Holy sh*t man, Did you build a Blue tinted glass house to live in or something? I dont want a player who only shows up for half the games being a leader.

That is a stretch. If we return Briscoe, willis, Matthews, hawkins and hump that is a nice core to go with 5 stud freshman.
puke will be loaded but splinter has always had a tight 7 man rotation at the most. allen, jones, Kennard, Jackson and thornton is 5 guys for 2 spots. Not a problem he has had like this before. if tatum, giles and Jefferson start is bolden going to be ok coming off the bench?
Jefferson is way to experienced to not start. Jeter and bolden could run into a situation where there are not many minutes.
This is why I don't understand Bolden going there. More comp for minutes at the 5 spot.

I don't see Jeter seeing many minutes next year either. What do you think the over/under on Duke transfers is? I'll set the number at 2.
