Duke, again, doesn't have a point guard. Duval is a combo, not a point. Grayson is not a point and is an undersized 2 guard. Pressure him and he makes bad decisions with the ball. They don't have a guy who can consistently, over a 6 game period, lead the team from the point guard position. On top of that their defense, even in the zone, isn't good enough to hide all their deficiencies.

A prediction; Duke will beat UNC Saturday and either stay where they are in the rankings/seedings or maybe even rise.

Maybe but I think UNC is better than Duke.

Grayson Allen at 6'5" is not an undersized 2. He's actually taller than most 2Gs.

Interesting. You think blowing a 15 point lead is a better outcome than just losing a see-saw game? I never saw it that way. But I guess that was a comfort in the 98 and 2002 tournaments.
Nothing will matter with Puke..they are getting a 1seed.

I would only even consider them for a 1 IF they beat UNC and win the ACC Tournament. Other than that a # 2 (unless they flatlined to a 3, hey never say never, right? )

MD, it’s a game of runs in the end you have to close. Periods of excellent play show what teams, the really good teams can be capable of. Unfortunately excellent play in one stretch that becomes average in another stretch can still result in an L. Inconsistency is the order of the day in the “OAD” era.

I guess. (Setting Duke’s 15 point lead in this one and 20+ win two weeks ago aside)
I watched the game at Cameron. Tech couldn't hit the ground if they fell out of a hot air balloon. And again, when Allen stops making shots, Duke is in trouble. The game switched completely when Allen started throwing up bricks instead of swishing jumpers like he was when they got that 15 point lead tonight.

I hated the shot selection down the stretch.

Puke had 26 points with 11 min left in first half and then scored 7 more points in the half.
They scored 5 points the last 7 minutes of game.
That equates to 12 points in 18 minutes.
Hard to imagine with that much talent.

Thats happens all the time to every team...Sometimes teams will score 50 in first half and only 25 in second half or vice versa...

Well, that was the upset of the century. Don't worry though, Duke is going undefeated here on out and will win the championship (will the jinx keep working throughout the season from this one thread? I'm not sure, but hopefully this helps it).

Duke (before tonight's game) is sitting on only 3 quad 1 wins. They are projected as the #5 or #6 overall seed in most places.

Found this interesting. I just went back and looked at the Feb 11th (time of the NCAA bracket show) and Duke was sitting on 4 quad 1 wins at the time. Right now they have 3.

If they beat UNC, it will not matter. They will be a 2 seed. NCAA slurps all over them.
