Only got to watch parts of the game but overall I liked how our bench contributed. I know Pitt is just awful, but our D looked better and the guys seemed more focused. We went up 1.5 points in Kenpom and our D is sub-100 again. I'll take it!

the first half was a step in the right direction. Let's see consistency now against teams with more of a pulse. We saw a lot of guys contribute in different ways. Hopefully K can realize that games like this will boost morale AND develop our bench. Our guys need to play. We saw better defense and effort in the 1st half and that needs to continue. We came out the sluggish but it's cool we saw what we needed to see. IMPROVEMENT. Hopefully this can continue and K continues to develop the bench. Vrank, white, robinson, and o connel can play. They're not just "practice players".

We didn't even break 100 to a terrible team. Color me not impressed. I remember when we used to completely destroy bad teams. They would just literally forfeit the rest of the season. K has gone soft.

Very proud of the team. Everybody is using "well it was only Pitt," as a qualifier. However, it was ACC on the road and we took care of business(previously failure for this group). That is PROGRESS for this team.

Now things get a little dicier w/Wake at home Saturday (its a big 4 matchup, and they should have won at UNC last weekend). Then the showdown at Miami! Lets keep that chip on our shoulder we came on the floor with guys. Hey Ques, Jav- better hurry back- other guys on this team want to play too, and can play!!!

Yeah, younger players often lack the mental discipline to take struggling opponents seriously. It's not a character issue; they're just not that developed. Hard to fault BC's or NCSU's performance against us, but those games certainly raised the question of whether we had that maturity. In all honesty, we don't, and one game doesn't mean we're fixed, but it's a huge step in the right direction that we took care of business that well. We know we have the talent to beat MSU and other top teams; this shows we are developing the focus that could safeguard us against letdowns and let-ups down the road.

Robinson, Goldwire, White, O’Connell and even Big V scored and held it down on defense. It’s gonna be good to see the starters to progress in this direction with the first half Defense.

On to Wake and Miami.

I really want to see Gary use more of that deadly mid range game he possesses. He has fallen in love with the 3 point shot during times this year but his biggest weapon is a hard drive and finishing with contact or pulling up from the key.

Honestly, I can't remember seeing an ACC team as bad as that Pitt team. Regardless, our guys came in and looked focused on the defensive end.
My favorite part of the game?? Pitt didn't get a shot their first 3 possessions.

Still believe ultimately our rotation will be 8. It was nice to see guys like J-Rob, Vrank, and White contribute though. Think they can really help us through the next couple weeks, since were battling injuries to Javin and Marques.

As good as bagley is I really think he needs to slow down on the post entry .... given the turnovers and bad FT shooting against the double teams..try spreading the wealth. Even when he beats it it looks scarey wild and risky and won’t work against better teams ...Yea I’m nitpicking ...

I'm glad we held an acc team to under 60, and on the road made it a little better. I'm like everyone else, it was good to see some of the bench play, and play well. I still want to see Grayson be a bit more selfish. Early in the game he drove into the lane, had an easy 6-8 footer, but chose to kick out to Duval. Maybe I'm wrong, and I know Duval hit the shot, but of the two options, Grayson is the better choice. I think he's trying to be such a team player and get everyone else involved that it's affecting his offense.

Jack White played very well, got some big rebounds, and created extra possessions. And 60% from deep to go with 3 blocks for J-Rob certainly makes a case why we could get *some* minutes for 9, 10, maybe 11 guys. The bench gave us a ton of energy. I think our starters played harder because they were rested too.

I will love to see how we do defensively against Miami. I think a much better measurement. Pitt is downright horrible. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the domination, but I think its hard to measure things like defense or bench play against a team like Pitt. Just my opinion. However, I did like to see guys draining buckets from the bench. Robinson was stroking it!

Miami has given Duke such fits over the years. Larraneuga is 8-5 against K?? That's gotta be a record.
Not drinking any of the Kool-Aid on our defense against Pitt, ditto with Wake in Cameron. Now, if we look improved on D against Miami, I'll buy in. Would love to see more forced turnovers, the occasional shot clock violation, and maybe even take a charge. Miami runs a spread pick-n-roll, the only time we have ever stopped it, was last year when Matt Jones and BOLDEN took the game over defensively. This will be a great test defensively.
