Duke games online...

I pay for DirecTV, simply because I gotta have my DVR Services. I rarely watch games live... and even when I'm able to, I prefer not to watch it live because I hate waiting through commercials and other breaks in the game. I generally watch a full basketball game in less than an hour. It's probably over-priced, but I've heard the playback features through streaming services don't work as well - skipping and the inability to fast-forward, as a couple of examples. So I'm content for the time being.

Absolutely, Dukedivilz, DirecTV, and cable have their obvious advantages. It's all about choices, and what works best for an individual (or family). But I do think there will be fewer and fewer differences as more people cut the cord. Sling even offers a limited DVR service...but I don't think it works with every channel, and most likely not with ESPN. But that'll probably change in the future (but not for now so it won't work for you).

Sure you did,( and can), IPSYCHO. NO one said you couldn't. Sling TV, Playstation Vue, and even DirecTV's own 'NOW' are streaming alternatives to cable, and satellite plans. It's a choice, or more precisely, more choices.

If you want to keep your cable plan, you can keep your cable plan, if you want to keep your satellite plan, you can keep your satellite plan, and if you want to switch to a streaming service plan, you can switch to a streaming service plan (otherwise known as the Affordable Cable-replacement Act). You may even save $2500.00, but don't hold your breath, unless of course you've got good insurance.

The Pay The Referees Fund. We've been doing it for years and years and they keep asking for more per game. We need every dollar we can get. I thought all Duke fans on here were well aware of it so now that you know about it keep it just to ourselves. If unc nation finds out about it they will turn us into the NCAA and with the great relationship between them our basketball program will go down the gutter.OFC

In all seriousness I question whether it’s not going on foreal based on last couple years ...they always worried about players throwing games yet never hear a cricket about a ref doing it ..that’s crazy given how easy one can be pursuaded by money ! And I’m not exactly entirely talking about teams . Gambling high stake people whatever ...I guarantee it’s happening ...if not the refs need some damn glasses ! Even people like committee whatever I believe is compromised at times and not just to Duke but everybody...hard to tell what really happens behind closed doors when so much is about nothing but money! I mean especially the nfl ..the last few years have been horrible by the refs ..

Hey everyone, lots of info about Sling but nothing much about Playstation Vue, so I thought I'd offer a bit as it's what I have.

There are different packages which offer more or less channels depending on the package. I think the cheapest starts at $35 (it was $30 when I originally signed up and have been grandfathered in). It's no contract so you can cancel anytime. When it comes to sports, for $35 I get the following:

(Some of these are obviously dependent upon where I live)

ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, ESPN U, Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports South, FS1, FS2, MLB Network, NBA TV, NBC Sports Network, NFL Network, SEC Network, Big Ten Network.

You also get your local channels if you live close enough to the area. I'm about an hour from the broadcast city and pick up CBS, Fox, and NBC. It also has DVR capability. Last year I recorded a Duke game and instead of just recording that specific Duke game, it recorded "College Basketball" so it recorded every single college basketball game aired on ESPN for the rest of the season haha.

Anyway, for $35 it's not a bad deal.

Yeah, Mpm, I've been checking out some of the streaming services, and there are getting to be quite a few getting into the game. Competition is heating up, and services are getting better all the time. I may consider changing my Sling for one of the others in the near future. Some great stuff out there.
