Know someone who was treated there . She has now grown into a beautiful young woman who's boy friend plays baseball for NCSU but she still has Duke in her heart. Shout out the UNC's Childrens Hospital along with the Ronald McDonald House located there.OFC

Duke Children’s Hospital has come a long way since I was a kid. When I was a kid I went to Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital. I spent a good portion of my childhood there because Duke Children’s Hospital wasn’t around yet at the time.
Dude, glad you are OK. forgot about lenox baker. i had a family friend that was in and out of there all of the time. I think it's an apartment complex now I think they use to work with duke a alto. my dad taught in the medical school and at least that is what he told me

Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital is still there and still an outpatient children’s hospital. Although I’m an adult now, I still go out to Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital every so often when I need some work done to my wheelchair.

My daughter goes to Lenox Baker to see Dr. Fitch. We try to see him at Page Rd but it’s all where he’s at on certain days.

I love Dr Fitch. He was one of my doctors when I was a kid. He and his wife have been working at Lenox Baker for 40+ years. Dr Fitch performed the back surgery I had when I was around 12-13 years old. I last saw him in 2010 after having back pain for about a year and discussed having him fix the problem that was causing my back pain but other medical things came up that needed attention that were more necessary to take care of before getting my back taken care of. At the time that I saw him in 2010, I hadn’t seen him in probably 20 years or so but he still rememberef me and when he looked at the X-ray that they took of my back, he instantly knew what was causing the problem and told me that it could be fixed with a minor surgery.

We left UNC to go to Duke for a very minor reason but have been thrilled for the last few years we’ve been at Duke. Fitch is one of the 3 doctors my daughter sees. He always remembers certain things about my daughter when she comes in.

I was born at Duke and I’ve been going to Duke my whole life except for a short period of time when I was younger when I was on my mom’s health insurance and they switched to UNC. I only had to go to UNC once for an appointment during that time I believe and I didn’t like it because we were there for like 3-4 hours and only like 5-10 minutes of that time was actually spent seeing the doctor, the rest of that time was sitting in the waiting area waiting to be seen.
