Those who follow this conference, what can we expect next year? When you take everything in Batavia, Wheaton North, WWS and GN had great teams, but what can we expect from this conference in 2022?

From what I remember WWS, WN and Batavia all run return similar amounts of starters where as GBN was heavier into Seniors. I would give Batavia the edge right now since they return their QB and best defensive player. I believe WWS won the conference as freshman and Sophs but they did lose a key player in this class.

Curious as to who the key player you reference is.

SCE won the Freshmen level. Geneva was 9-0 at the sophmore level

This year WWS was 5-4 on the freshman level and I believe they were 7-2 on the Sophomore level but I could be wrong on that one. The good news for them is that next year the expectation is that they will have the largest class of freshman football players in the last 7 or 8 years.

I think the underclass records hold some value, definately. What I always think gets forgotten is how some programs develop and play FR on SOPH or SOPH that play up at VAR. Again, some value, but until these classes emerge as junior or seniors its just a crapshoot to know what they would have been with those key players that were moved up. So maybe its a worst case record, but always could be better if those call ups were playing with their class. That being said, I just want to hold on to the chance SCE improves in the next couple of years. Been tough sledding lately and hard to see that happen to some talented kids and hard workers.

WN seniors were Frosh 8-0-1; Sophs 7-2 (Forcucci, Maske, Moore up); juniors 5-1; Seniors 13-1

33-4-1

So tremendously talented at FROS/SOPH/JR/SR years with and without players moved up, that is my take on the WN senior class. Overall, really highly talented and then a few even higher performers.

I'm hearing that STN is getting a big transfer from out west. If true, nice pickup for STN

Batavia and Wheaton North will be preseason favorite to win both conference and 7A. Geneva will be much improved and WWS and GBN have a lot coming back.

im sure SCN will lead the conference in preseason hype but they are still a QB dépendant team where QB is their weakness position on the field.

I think MC might have something to say about that.
