He may well be right right but he sure seems like someone pissed in his Post Toasties. Not his first swipe at NU since leaving.

F$U has been a great off the bus team even during the recent lean years. Maybe Tony will whip that defense into shape. As for the Williams kid, he has always seemed a bubble off plumb and for reasons mysterious, he has an ax to grind about NU’s program. That kid had all of his production against the early season teams and the bottom of the Big 10. Tony sees something that I don’t.

Good lord good riddance. No thanks to Nebraska from pulling him from nowhere to give him an opportunity. I hope he fails and fades to where he was before. Nonexistent

If that is all true, considering he was a part-time player in Lincoln, he won’t play at all down there. Great choice, Mr. Williams.

Yea well the ND line man that came here mentioned that there is more talent on the team than at ND

Take as grain of salt by both comments and let’s see in the fall.

James Williams loved Coach "Pot Roast", and it is natural for him to transfer to his mentor. He also has a metabolism issue that Nebraska support staff addressed and were able to assist him in his development. I would hope FSU staff will provide him with similar care. I enjoyed his short career as a Husker.

Ah … the immaturity of youth. I wonder if he will change his tune and potentially even transfer again when he plays all of 10 snaps this year while buried on the depth chart behind all of that talent he describes.

Add trains to the middling of Fort Dodge and it’s basically the same as Lincoln??? Makes Ty Robinson look small???

What … A … Douche. Loved his story last year what a departure from a year ago.

Good luck to him - hopefully this can be a learning experience when he leaves his job at Enterprise to go to Hertz not to be a tool in his interview.

From his perspective he's probably telling the truth. But his comments, while stupid, aren't all that far off. The NFL draft has told us as much over the years. We all know that our second and third level defenders are lacking in some ways- mainly speed. I wouldn't doubt that FSU is better there. Pretty dumb to mention Ty in his comparisons but if they have a guy 40 pounds heavier, OK fine. FSU is getting more kids drafted than NU year in and year out. And they'll have a DT who may go higher than Ty this year, and Ty was our best player in quite some time.

Of all the human character flaws that make some people disgusting, ingratitude is in my opinion one of the worst. Because often people who are rude, loud, unhygienic, and even criminal are just born that way and can't help it. But ingrates like Williams make a conscious decision to stab someone in the back (like Rhule) and have no excuse for being miserable people.

Now that I have read the article, I realized I might be getting too old to be offended. I question some accuracy, but it seems like he’s just giving his opinion and assessment (free country with free speech, for the most part) of overall athleticism. Doesn’t mean he’s right…OR attitudinal, IMO.

But I haven’t had a bowl of cereal yet…

He just sounds stupid. It takes intelligence and introspection to know the value of taking the high road keeping your mouth shut. He's not smart enough to resist when baited by the interviewer.

There is a “right “ way and a “wrong” way of getting his opinion across. He continually chooses the wrong way on purpose.

“Ty is a beast and it was great playing alongside him. Here at FSU we have a similar dude who is even bigger. We also have more depth than when I was at Nebraska. NU coaches are working hard to build up that depth.”

“Ty is good, but not as good as the guy here at FSU. Our LBs and DBs were bad.”

Which is the better way of saying the same thing without sounding like a DBag?

What does he think he’s doing by making these comments? Other than get attention from both FSU and Nebraska fans? Sounds like a preemptive attempt to explain why he won’t play much. Oh well, hope bama doesn’t beat y’all by 50. Good luck…

When I’ve watched FSU over the past decade, I wondered how they could be losing so often. Their players look fluid and fast on the field. Just because you are a fine looking football player doesn’t mean you’re actually any good at the game. During his tenure, Frost bought several fast wide receivers to Lincoln but it appears those kids really didn’t know how to run a route. Williams may have a case of this. Nwaneri>Williams.

White or Pot Roast need to have a word with him on the QT and let him know that while he's entitled to his opinion, there could be consequences down the road. I would hope they would do that out of respect for Rhule and to help JW with his judgement. Just because someone pushes a mic in front of you and gives you a forum doesn't mean you should free associate. The jab at Ty was just moronic.

Lincoln sucks but it's not like Tallahassee is the Riviera of the Florida panhandle

Well said. Florida St. recruits to Tallahassee after all. Think of all of the close access to speed and size that is available within their 500 mile radius. New Orleans, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida. The Seminoles should look a lot better than us.

And regarding your Florida St. and NU WRs comment, Florida State football has been a lot like Neyor. Neyor is basically just a track dude playing football. He looks great, runs fast but he's not a very good football player.

I'm not going to say he's wrong. That was my impression as well as a whole team as I watched them during legacy walk last year.

We were not a big team but then again seemed we were 50% wr and dbs

Where would he rank for best players on the 2024 defense that lacked such talent, speed and size? The logical conclusion from his comments is that he will be just a guy at best for FSU. Maybe he needs to kiss some butt just to make their 105.

So this came from Rocco Spindler -

Something else got Spindler's attention right away – those mat drills. He told his parents immediately it was no joke.

Tough to get through, but guys attacked it. "It's hard-nosed football," Spindler said. "We just completed mat drills. From where I'm coming, we never really experienced something like that."

Legit. That's the word he used.

"This is a hard program to be a part of," he said. "That's why when it's going to get down to 105, it's going to be the right 105 guys."

Why is this different though? I don't like either guy commenting on past schools or programs. You aren't there anymore, no need to say anything about them at all. I just don't remember people being mad at Spindler.

Are you on the ND board. Maybe there were some comments. I agree o don’t like players comparing schools. JW was a backup here. My only comment was if he is right about the talent and very well could be . If so he likely won’t see the field much since he was a backup here.
