My business is recession proof.
What about your customers? A recession wouldn't effect them either right? Tell me what a smart business leader you are again?
Doing just fine chief.

OK...then you'll no doubt write a letter of personal gratitude to your favorite Prez when his policies plunge the rest of this shaky economy into one? (recession)

We're not in a recession...this economy is booming...booming I tell 'ya!

Who's stupid enough to believe him?
Not my favorite President. Trump has as much to do w/ it. I don't take economic advice from used car salesmen. And recession or no recession, I'll be just fine.

Ha...ha...ha...but you sure voted for him didn't 'ya? What's wrong....finally figuring out how you got suckered?

And you're trying to tell us how smart of a business leader you are?

Maybe not because my advice to you would be to walk instead making an automotive purchase from a qualified sales agent. You live in New York city...guess that dirty subway is always an option for 'ya too huh? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Trump left office damn near 3 years ago. What policy is he in charge of now that would have any chance of causing a recession sometime later this year, which many sound business analysts are warning we are indeed facing unless we straighten out our fiscal matters in the swamp?

I'm dying to see how you finagle this answer? Or am I going to get your obligatory response?

@NYCeer ...now atl, don't you know me by now?

Yes unfortunately I do. I know you'll never provide a factual answer backing up what you just posted.

I can just imagine you walking into any "new car" showroom and telling the sales associates there exactly what you'll pay for your brand new "used" vehicle? :joy:

Tell me my man, the last "new vehicle" you purchased, did you pay your price for it or the price the sales associate quoted to you? As for taking my advice, I'd advise you that an automobile purchase is the second largest investment for most consumers, and for some it's their largest single investment. So the financial advice we offer to our customers making such a significantly large purchase is not only required, but appreciated.

Not surprised. You don't believe in facts any way.
Actually I do! While I know you won't answer my direct question for you to factually back up what you posted in #42 of the thread, let me try to see if you'll also at least accept a few facts OK?

Can you tell me what the inflation rate was when Trump left office? Don't know? Well, if you can't say I'm posting it here for 'ya, along with some recent inflation numbers since he's left office.

So if you can using these facts, explain to the rest of the board what Trump policies caused the inflation you can easily see here since he left office, which was not evident while he was actually in office?

Just use these facts OK?

excerpt:
“Another devastating inflation report for American workers and families. Another new 40-year high. Grocery prices off the charts, worst increase since the 1970s. Rent, gas, and electricity all way up,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) wrote. “The Democrats’ inflation has handed the average American a 3.9% real pay cut.”

more "facts" for you about Trump's economy

Dammit atl, you miserable UNCLE TOM...why do you always make me run away from defending my own words?

Maybe I just love watching arrogant people run from themselves? ;)

his shallowness is reflected in how he judges others by their material possessions, or his perception of what they have. the arrogance is typical of classlessness. So bourgeois!

But you do drive a vehicle correct? Tell me is that vehicle you're currently operating "brand new" or "used"? If it was purchased "brand new", you bought it from a "used car salesmen" and I'd lay odds he wiped your arrogant *** clean too! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Friends w/ the owner of the several dealerships he owns. Only lease new and pay it via one my companies. Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, etc. I work out the deal w/ him and he sends me to one of you to sign the paperwork. Only money they make off of me is the pre-paid maintenance. So, once again. You're dead wrong.

No I'm not. It's a "used vehicle" if it's not brand new. As far as leases, it's not one of the smartest ways to purchase! You have no equity, the lien holder owns all of the value....you're just paying someone for the right to drive the vehicle for a pre set amount of time and if you exceed the mileage limits, leave signs of abuse or excessive wear or damage it, you are responsible for the loss of resale value which you get nothing of when you turn the keys back in at the end of the lease, and it ends up costing you even more!

Tell me how careful you are with your money again? If it's the company's money, you're ripping it off too.

Nice job!

Again, it's one of the least cost efficient ways to purchase but it is one of our most lucrative instruments to siphon easy money from our less credit worthy customers. 😉

This isn't for @NYCeer , because he's obviously a financial guru when it comes to avoiding the ravages of inflation on his business expenses, but for the rest of you be aware of leasing a vehicle unless you have poor credit or can't afford to make a reasonable down payment on a conventional loan.

excerpt:
“When you lease a car, you make payments for a specified period of time and then at the end of the term you have nothing to show for your money”

I don't mean to pick on you, but I'm curious just how much of a "friend" is your Dealership owner to you on your leases with him?

I'm in the business, and in fairness to the other posters I won't go into all of the details on either "open end" or "closed end" leases...particularly all the hidden fees we often don't even discuss with our leasing agents or their clients. However, if this person is really your "friend" he's not charging you for some of these fees, or at least he's explained them to you and he's absorbing the costs?

loss/depreciation fees
buy out/purchase options fees
mileage allowances/wear-n-tear incidentals fees
hold back/dealer cost allowance fees
monthly rent allowance fees
destination/dealer prep reimbursements fees
title acquisition/loss recovery fees
loss of value waiver fees
residual value reserve fees
lien holder loan to vehicle cost ratio fees
customer choice option rates (more popularly accessorized vehicles are leased with these higher fees)

Honestly my friend there are literally dozens more costs and fees that we build into the option of the lease to recover both our up front loss of the vehicle's resale value as well as any potential for theft, damage, abuse, or lease default. It gets complicated, but your "friend" no doubt either waives most of these added expenses for you and eats them as a good friend should, or he charges you premium for them and keeps his mouth shut? At the very least, you should be carefully reviewing all the terms of your lease (particularly if it's a "closed end" or "open end" term)

excerpt
Your monthly payments may be higher under a closed–end lease than under an open–end lease because the leasing company takes the risk on the car's future worth – that is, that it will be worth its quoted estimated residual vs actual resale value at the end of the term.

@NYCeer ...having a tough time accepting advice from a "used car" salesman :joy:

Hey @NYCeer ....you probably won't explain anything I pointed out in #64 about what your Dealer friend charges you to lease with him but since you bragged about it, can you at least tell me at the end of your lease deal does he pay the vehicle's residual value fees or do you?

That answer (if you answer) will tell me all I need to know about not only how much of a "friend" he is to you but also what type of business he's running? It'll also tell me how smart of a business leader YOU are?

I suspect you won't answer me because it'd be almost as embarrassing as admitting you never played H.S. basketball right?

If you're too embarrassed to answer me in #66 @NYCeer then just tell me if you sign a "closed end" or "open end" lease with your dealer friend? And don't give me any of your "none of your business atl caca" because had YOU not brought it up, I wouldn't even know you lease your vehicles instead of owning them considering how financially well off you claim you are?

So if you thought I deserved to know that you lease instead of own, then you can at least tell me if you lease "open end" or "closed end"?

So which is it?

"Cmon @NYCeer ...give me something huh?

I see what you're up to atl, and I ain't gonna expose my financial ineptitude to YOU!!!!!

OK then, bye man!

I'm going to leave you alone...I think your refusal to answer me proves you're either a liar or you got raped when you signed off on that lease with your "friend". So your non answer is really an answer for me OK my man?

Alright, I'll stop embarrassing you now.
