Worked on Mars pipelines in a previous career. That would be bad if true.

Friend of mine just said a few shallow water rigs outside the port have broke loose. Havent heard if it’s true

I'm certainly no expert on oil wells, but I do have some knowledge on the subject.

All wells are equipped with a "blowout preventer," which keeps the oil contained in the underground formation if a catastrophe occurs. If the blowout preventer works properly, then no oil spill will happen when the platform breaks loose.

Depends, but likely not if they prepared correctly. I didn’t work on drilling rigs, but did sub-sea construction for them so I don’t know every detail about what their procedures would be
