Did you actually read the report from JD? It wasn’t real news about an offer. Only that big money folks were prepared to ensure that number. Don’t believe those big money folks ever had the oppprtunity to put together a package for an official offer cause Hurley is not who Mitch prefers.
Why would I read the report? The thread titles of the two threads were Hurley offered and Drew offered.

Maybe not the dream hire (if true) but VERY good one. If we got denials like everyone is asking for, or dragged it out, we would lose face and time in the portal/bringing in recruits. Good move by the administration. We do NOT know that the denials were or weren't received. This is good PR and good timing. Pissing and moaning otherwise is ignorant of current circumstances and our status. Let's go!!!

I think this is not over. Kentucky themselves said they were going after three guys. Doesn't make sense to offer Drew without looking at anyone else.
I want to hear first that we made a massive offer and did everything in our power to get Hurley here.

You have to be kidding right. You want a washed up has been who has destroyed the program over a fantastic younger coach who can actually coach and will care about winning for UK and its fans rather than draft day. I would rather have Mo Larry and Curly before I would want that “All I care about are players…..Tournaments and championships don’t matter. Go be a Hog fan. We gave gave millions and the last 4 years our program has become a joke and he couldn’t or wouldn’t fix it.

Mitch tried with Hurley. Offering him $11 million + a year. He declined it seems.
It looks like mighty strong gumption to me to offer Hurley close to $80 million the day after the second of his back to back national championships. Hurley is a northeast guy, his dad lives in Jersey and he has a shot at a three-peat with UCONN and still, Mitch goes for it with the biggest contract offer in the history of college basketball.
If we get Scott drew that's fine...I'll support him. But I've never like mitch and if he made another big hire without even offering officially the big Dawgs yet, it confirms what I know and that he is a bad AD for making hires for the big sports. I really think we should wait if we have to for Billy Donovan end of bulls season.
I'd just like point, no offers does not mean no discussions. So, if coach X didn't get a $15M per offer, it doesn't mean interest wasn't explored. The majority, or meat, or these procedures are rarely ever fully aired.
If Drew is the new coach we should welcome him with open arms. Save the hostilities until later next season depending on his performance. I hope we support whoever is hired.

The report didn't say offer. It said they plan to do it. If he didn't offer that, and went straight to Drew. I'm gonna be pissed. Swing for the moon.
I think Drew is a pretty good coach but I wouldn't be excited with this hire. He's boring but so am I.
