Since before the first Dream Team I have been of the opinion that whoever the reigning NCAA champ is at the time of the Olympics would wipe the floor with any national team. No assemblage of superstars, just the reigning champs staying together a few more months. I'm definitely biased and probably wrong.

I saw some first half highlights while we were getting beat and often our players looked like witnesses as opposed to active defenders. They were lackadaisical and without focus, it can happen to any team. I wouldn't read too much into it. If we're focused and motivated, we take the gold.

It's funny how much sports fans around the world are alike. I was listening to the BBC this morning. Brazilian soccer fans were complaining about how the players on their squad have been dogging it during the Games so they won't get hurt and possibly jeopardize their careers in Europe.

We beat the second best team in the tournament by double digits, in a meaningless game. Give me a break.
