Since before the first Dream Team I have been of the opinion that whoever the reigning NCAA champ is at the time of the Olympics would wipe the floor with any national team. No assemblage of superstars, just the reigning champs staying together a few more months. I'm definitely biased and probably wrong. Our almost loss against Australia is great evidence that the NBA is killing the game and Mark Cuban can shut the **** up about how the NCAA is killing his NBA.
I saw some first half highlights while we were getting beat and often our players looked like witnesses as opposed to active defenders. They were lackadaisical and without focus, it can happen to any team. I wouldn't read too much into it. If we're focused and motivated, we take the gold. Our almost loss against Australia is great evidence that the NBA is killing the game and Mark Cuban can shut the **** up about how the NCAA is killing his NBA.
Beat Serbia 94-91 and France 100-97. Not exactly stellar. We beat the second best team in the tournament by double digits, in a meaningless game. Give me a break.
