About the state of UK basketball. A disgraceful 9 win season. The talent wasn’t there. Maybe the new transfer rule will be the answer. Cal and UK have lost their mojo with elite talent. I expect more for 10 million a year.

Attention is more easy to get then to start a thread on something that has been discussed numerous times. Cal has made all the right adjustments this off season, but with guys like you who don’t understand that, will continue to beat a dead horse.

The NBA draft does not determine anything about our program, btw.

The NBA draft is all Cal has cared about since arriving in Lexington.

First off "Alot" is not a word. Please do not ever go to any KY basketball games, because I don't want to sit beside your crybaby's arse. Give it a rest, all the great memories the University of Kentucky has given us. UK's women's volleyball won national championship this year. Our student athletes are doing great in the Olympics. Ok we had a bad year in basketball. Whoops, probably cause we couldn't fill Rupp to jump start our team. Who knows? Your crying is not going to help. So button up Mr half empty glass. We don't want loser fans!!!!

Kudos to you, I mean most if realized we didn't have a great team when we watched the season and I think we all knew the coach was highly paid, but hey at least you finally figured it out.

Cal used the draft as a recruiting tool. They all tell you they want to play for Cal because he gets you to the NBA. Most players don’t give two ***** about UK. Some do but it’s not a driver in choosing UK for most. Cal knows a good draft means his pay keeps locked in. Championships are secondary and a bonus for him.

Honestly this entire draft sucks. There isn’t single player outside of Cunningham who I think will be a star.
these scrawny freshmen leaving early are gonna get beat to death
There are some solid players like Suggs, Kuminga could be really good, Green has a ton of talent, some solid college guys even like Cooper who was a 2nd round pick will end up being good. Evan Mobley has a world of potential too.

Streak of having a 1st Rounder was continued with Isaiah Jackson and believe it's a record. That matters. Last year was a disaster and nobody has said any differently.

He's done what most if not overwhelming majority of the fans wanted:

New Staff
Brought in experience with transfers
Returned players
Landed some elite Fr--specifically 2 guys UK wasn't on if not for bringing in new staff members.

Looking forward to this upcoming year and the state of recruiting hasn't been to this level in a long time. This '22 class is special and UK is coming on strong with their priority guys. Now they have to close to finish the task, but more elite talent has visited Lexington in June of this year then the previous staff was getting onto campus for years. Will never land guys who don't visit and the talent evaluation of this staff is best he's had since O/Strickland/KP were on same staff.

he seems like he’s trying to make the changes necessary. the only thing i worry about going forward is that he gets sucked back into over reliance on freshman. lack of roster stability is what ultimately lead to the downward trend we’ve experienced over the last 6 seasons imo.

TN is back with drive by team bashing! He couldn’t wait to unload, and before the season even began! Gotta pace yourself, big guy. Could be a rough season for you when the team starts rolling other people.
20 years and 20000 post isn’t what I would describe as drive by. The Facts are are hard for you kids swallow. Cal has not earned his salary. He has been repeatedly out coached throughout his entire career especially in big games. His past has been shady and when forced to break ties with WWW recruiting has consistently gone down hill. So my question is what is success for you at UK and how much longer will you tolerate mediocrity while we are passed by Kansas for all time wins and continually out recruited by Duke Kansas UNC UCLA Gonzaga and now Baylor and Kansas. At some point reality must set in. I think about it a lot. 😉

That’s great news, like you said they have to close the deal now. Hopefully the trend of elites going anywhere for a year start to get over ridden again by guys who wanna win big at a school like UK and get a big NIL opportunity.

What is your definition of mediocrity? Outside of last year, which was a huge anomaly (and please provide stats when you are argue this), you’re speaking generalities, which isn’t uncommon for your arguments.

Cal has been successful here in recruiting and in wins. Has it all been perfect? Heck , no but keep in mind that all those teams you mentioned have mostly underwhelmed with their talent they “stole” from us. Plus, a few of them are in trouble because of how they “took” that taken from us. I suspect if the NCAA does the right thing, and they will because Kansas spat in their face, we will be back on top in no time.

But griping about the team, Cal, and everything in between right now is foolish. I would say you have better things to do in life, but as you pointed out you have spent 20 years and 20000 posts here. I guess you don’t have better things. Just practice being less miserable. It is much more fun to be positive.

I've watched the OP for years. He's always missing in action as Kentucky has won championships, played in Final Fours, won SEC titles, won big rivalry games and on and on. He's never shared a celebratory moment here, even as Kentucky has been the consensus program of the decade.

But he's always around to cry like a three-year-old any chance he can get -- taking shots at Calipari but also at Kentucky basketball. And if there is no reason to complain, like right now when Kentucky has had a successful summer adding some terrific players, looks really good with the recruiting class, has brought back Orlando Antiqua and otherwise strengthened the staff, he'll make up some excuse to be a pessimistic whiner.

So ask yourself: Is he simply one of the most miserable humans you'll ever come in contact with? Or does he have an agenda that fits the definition of troll?

I don't think that's a hard question to answer, but either one you pick will work.

You need to go back and read 20 years of posting. Before you make yourself look ridiculous. I tell it like it is. I am not a snowflake -Cal-Aid - disrespect our flag person. The only trophy given is for champions not participation.

So, your dislike of Cal's coaching is more about politics than anything. Dude, you just showed you have ZERO ability to assess anything Cal related.
