I was telling my friends it's Allen or Haskins because that's all I heard for weeks was it was a defensive player or Haskins. I was shocked Allen was still there and thought he was the pick for sure. I was also still laughing at my friend who is a Raiders fan about reaching for that no.4 pick. Then this happened and he got the last laugh.

I thought that 30th pick would also be an OL. At least that CB should see a good amount of playing time next year.

It feels like Ebron again. Hock is Ebron. Oliver is Aaron Donald. History repeating itself.
While I definitely would have liked Oliver, I respectfully disagree about Hock = Ebron.

Ebron wasn’t a good blocker and really wasn’t all that at catching the ball.

Hock is like an undersized OL in the run game and a guy who can catch basically everything. Pair that with Kerryon Johnson & Kenny Golladay and we have some nice young weapons on offense.

Plus, I get a sense Hock is the type of guy who will be with the organization for a long time.

Well, that definitely didn't happen. Gonna need to hit big with pick #35 now.

Honestly, probably like you my initial reaction of the Colin Ferral pick was met with a huge WTF, but after further thought I understand and like the pick.

They probably wanted to trade down to get this guy at like 12 or 15, got no (or good) offers for the value, and took him at 4. Allen I could see not being a defensive “fit”, Bosa was gone, and Oliver... wanted him but that dude will go off and do whatever he wants.

Plus... this guy after his rookie contract is the cheapest out of the DEs. He’s an anchor DE and will get an occasional sack, but he’ll make the line better, probably.

Josh Jacobs.... sure why not. Need a RB. Could he be the next Charlie Garner?

Abrams... I dig it, sure.

#35 didn’t see who they got but assumingly its a CB. Love that Sin-Yang (?) dude.

Update: They made safe, coherent-enough selections. They didn’t draft a QB early nor did they take Darius Hayward-Bay 7th overall.

It will be interesting to see how things work out in Oakland. I get the impression that Gruden has low tolerance for me-first guys much like Belichcik. I'm a Vike fan but the NFL is more fun IMO when teams like Oakland and Denver are competitive.
Totally agree. Im a die hard raider fan, and the more I analyze all the pics, one thing seems to the common denominator, high character, team first guys.
