This guy seems to hit it down the middle and is realistic regarding the economy.

For the most part, physicians have been the most levelheaded and reasonable bunch from day one. Scientists/researchers, politicians and the media are the ones who've been imbalanced and psychotic.

I’m worried about spectre. Unless this ends up killing us all he is going to be super conflicted.

“ 98-99% of the cases of this infection are MILD. Most people don’t seem to know they have it.”

Deadhead say: no prayers for you, Dr Katz.

There’s little to no reason why healthy young people should be quarantined at this point. As the doctor said, those people need to be going out in the world and getting exposed to the virus. 98-99% will beat it easily, most will not even know they have it, and they’ll keep our economy running. That’s the fastest and also safest way to getting past this thing.

Older people and/or underlying health concerns? Continue to stay away for now. But we are approaching the point with some of this where it is cutting off our nose to spite our face.

The problem is you can't separate the public sector "scientists/researchers" , political class, and the media. They have never been held accountable for being wrong..their funding depends on being cozy with the political class and parroting whatever agenda the political class wants them to promote..the models that are created are always wrong for two reasons...the parameters are agenda driven, and there are no consequences for the models being wrong....

The majority of true advances in science occur in the private sector where the science must be correct or the market will hold them accountable...

He’s right, the young and healthy really should hope to get it. Whoda thunk all those spring breakers may have actually been helping the problem.

When this ******** first started I made this same exact statement and got berated for it. My argument from the very beginning was that we allow the “at risk” population to stay home and keep everybody else at work. It’s the only 17ing approach to this thing that makes any sense at all. This thing is going to end up being about the same as the flu for the majority of the US, with some pockets of higher infection/death rates. The chicken ***** like Spectre and Deadhead going to have to eat some crow when this thing is over.

I don’t know your background, **** you could have a PhD in epidemiology. But let’s say you don’t. You called this **** better than a whole lot of geniuses from the get go. Now I’m sure you are smart, and I like to think I’m smart. But I have my doubts that we are that much smarter than them. I think there is an honesty issue as well.

I'm glad he and the 2 doctors from Stanford are getting more publicity. They have questioned the data behind our response from the start. Thanks for posting.

Well sorry but I think I'll advise my sons, daughter in laws and grandchildren to try and avoid being exposed in order not to risk getting the virus and being sick or worse. Now if you've got children and wanna expose them and risk it that's your prerogative but IMO that's pretty dumb, but again you're choice.

Way to try to play the heart strings, but our kids have probably already been exposed. I’d rather my children be exposed to this virus with a 99% survival rate than all of the other problems that come along with a depression. They are exposed to greater risks every day on their ride/drive to school/work. Also, you realize that this is not a one thing or the other kind of proposition, right? Our families can be out in the world and still keep themselves from being exposed. I’ve done it for two months now. Keep your distance. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Take your *** to work.

Survival rate is going to be much higher than 99%.

If they are young and they don’t get exposed that’s fine, but if that’s society’s position then you are increasing the chances of susceptible people being exposed
so - congratulations on being part of the problem I guess

I don’t disagree with you. I think it’s going to end up being about as deadly as the flu. 99.8% isn’t much higher than 99%, but that’s a bunch of lives, so I understand the point you are making. I felt like 99% was a pretty conservative number.

National shortage on crow meat incoming
Nah, our crow meat stockpiles are safe. They will just move on to being smug jackasses about the next issue that they are taking super cereal you guys and lamenting that all the Neanderthals they are surrounded by aren’t as enlightened as they are.

They will never stop to think that maybe being so wrong would indicate they should entertain s little more uncertainty about their positions.

Don’t forget to acknowledge that even with similar death rates between flu and corona, there’s a vaccine for the flu. So if they do end up being similar, that makes the flu deadlier than corona.

Not playing to yours or anyone else's heart strings, just stating facts. Since you and others seem to have all the answers compared to all the experts then proceed accordingly . Don't get me wrong I do believe people need to get back to work to many now are seriously struggling financially and I hope they get back to work but in a controlled environment. Regarding my family I would strongly recommend they adhere to strict guidelines to avoid getting the virus until that day many "experts" prove this quote 99% survival rate you claim. One last thing I truly hope you and your family don't get exposed so stay safe.

Those type people almost always speak in absolutes. They know it all, just ask them.

And on the similar death rates, the flu killed between 50 and 60 thousand since October. Corona has killed about the same since March. But also we know how to treat the flu whereas it’s really been a lot of just guessing with really no warning. So the studies will be interesting if this becomes seasonal once we have vaccines for both, proven treatments for both, built in preparedness for both. I’m anxious to see the studies that will answer questions like how much immunity does those that recover have, and how long does it last.

Mind explaining how COVID-19 has killed 50-60 million people since March when there’s only Jenn ~ 3,000,000 confirmed cases worldwide?

I know that guy was being a smarta**, but thanks for your remarks, The difference between a 99% death rate and 99.5% death rate may be thousands of lives.
