For the old-timers: Andre Smith vibes from Walker.
Oh yeah, big time. Andre was probably 6'6" on his tippy toes, got mauled every time he got the ball, and could still get it in the hole.

Walker this and walker that... He played great, but I have been saying all year griesel is the the controller of the tempo

7-13 for 18 points
12 rebounds
7 assists

His game management is the difference maker. Walker is great, but Griesel needs a hell of a lot more love IMO

Griesel had by far his best game as a husker. Was much more aggressive off the dribble than he had been. Creighton should have helped more and dared our wings to hit 3s.

Wow Creighton just lost to a bad BYU team. They are about to drop out of the Top 25. So much for being a potential Final Four team. They might end up being a bubble team.

With NU's and Creighton's history the past 30 years, I don't know how any NU fan can predict Creighton's status in March when it's not even the third week of December. Wishful thinking?

Certainly not a game the Jays deserved to win in any case, but WTF was McDermott thinking when he left King on the bench for BYU's final possession? Kalkbrenner was out with an illness, Kaluma fouled out, and still McDermott played King very little. I can sort of understand why, since King's not an offensive threat and the Jays spent the whole second half trying to dig their way out of a deficit. But as a result, Creighton got absolutely destroyed in the paint and on the boards.

But Coach, you know you're ahead now, right? You don't need any more points - all you need is a stop and a defensive rebound. Predictably, BYU went to the rim, missed, and scored on a putback. One of the most boneheaded coaching moves of the college basketball season, but he'll get a pass.

30 years? You're stretching Creighton's dominance in the series. Nebraska was 8-2 in the 1990s versus the Birds.

I mean, they needed a late run last year to get off the bubble.
This year they had crazy expecations that the fans secretly hated because they knew it would crush the team.

I don't really think it is all "wishful thinking" to see that you are looking at a team that is like 6-6 in the last 12 games they played.

Creighton will be in the tournament. Coaching will get them there.

I pull for Creighton to do well and I normally enjoy their style of play. But this year's team looks like it's being run by on of those analytics honks who thinks there are only two shots worth taking - threes and dunks. I can't even count how many times they turned down open 8-10 foot jumpers last night to kick the ball out to the arc - often to a bench player who was lucky to draw iron.

Beat it, jaysker

I realize it's quite a stretch for your little mind, but there's a big difference between respecting another opponent's accomplishments and rooting for your own team. See your earlier post regarding Notre Lame.

Btw, you aren't doing a very good job as the board's 'tough guy' replacement for HTO.

Congrats on the one emoji response from a senile old moron. You’ve made this claim before, and you’re a fraud. Zero integrity

From the 'tough guy' who takes his precious time to insult "a senile old moron."

'tough guy' gonna 'tough guy' as he rules the board.
You really are worked up, huh? Sad. Such a clown. You’ll go back in your hole like you always do

Another L for the Blue Birds. That's 5 in a row. At this rate, they might end up being an NIT Bubble team.

Some brilliant strategy down the stretch by McDermott. Fred King is having the game of his life, but picks up his fourth foul with about 4:00 left. So McDermott pulls King out and..... never puts him back in. But hey, at least he didn't foul out! That would have been terrible!!!

At least McDermott did let King play tonight, instead of those practice squad dudes he apparently fell in love with the night of the BYU game.

So weird that "Hey, chuck up some 3's and hope they go in" isn't always a great strategy.

Mix in the fact that he has one player that can't play when the beanpole C is on the court and the beanpole is now more worried about shooting 3's than posting up and playing D.

I said it before, the team, the coach and the fans wanted no part of the expectations this year.

Now they are even coughing up leads WHILE making like 6 three pointers in the last 5 minutes.

I'll be surprised if King isn't in the transfer portal at the end of the season. Kalkbrenner isn't going to get drafted, and I can't imagine that King wants to sit through another year of sporadic playing time and regular public ***-chewings. He was the only reason ASU didn't beat the Jays by 15 points.

Creighton struggling this year was so obvious to anyone paying attention.... when (insert one of several players here) left, you knew it was over.

Congrats to the folks who called this, for 15 years running. You were finally proven correct. Haha.
