Actually Shows wasn't near as bad as his other 2 partners.

Hit our free throws, we win. That issue is a main one with Cal's teams.
Yeah,from the 2:58 mark Shows turned the ball over twice in a row against pressure high school guards could break. Shows gave up 3 wide open threes. Shows played like he has never seen a zone defense. Shows missed free throws. Yep, that Shows dude really screwed The Cats.
And Bilas would personally sue if they didn’t.
Looked at Jon Scott’s site. We have lost 4 of the last 8 games in which he was a ref. Not going to blame him for all the losses but you have to pause when you are a .500 team when he’s around.
He did but they only counted 4.
Shows officiated half our losses this season: vs. Puke (not saying we’d have otherwise won:>), Alabama and now UT.

Probably was, but Shows called the 3rd and 5th fouls on Travis, just from memory. Both of those were complete trash.

I really don't know why I follow sports anymore. So much of it is decided by outside factors (TV ratings, league offices, personal vendettas by officials). And yet I still care and work myself up over it.
Worst anti-UK bias of any official, and it's openly known. Why does he get to even DO a UK game with the way he feels about Cal & UK? We need to have a mechanism to boycott these drunk *** cheating officials, or nothing will ever change.

Hmm...wonder if any player fouled out with a totally ******** call around the 2:58 mark.
The problem was Don Daily.
Cats up 67-60 with momentum and the ball. Johnson drives, jump stops, passes out to PJ who drains a corner three. But no, UT flops with minimal contact and some ref thinks this is a great time to kill that momentum, calling an offensive foul against Johnson.
Could have been 70-60 with under 5 to go, but this opened it up for UT to pick away at the game, and the refs decided at that point that it was time to shut it all down.
A team like UT doesn't just explode for 18 points in under 3 minutes, especially not against a defense like Kentucky. One of these days I am going to graph the frequency of fouls in a 40 minute game to prove there are unusual, unexplained spikes in the fouls at certain times in the game. I would expect there to be some odd correlation appearing between scoring "comebacks" and foul frequencies against the team "choking".
Refs don't make the shots for the teams, but they do manipulate momentum and have the power to remove key players with foul trouble. Last night we saw that first hand.

Lol at this narrative that cal always has loaded teams that lose, its such a terribly uneducated take and honestly doesnt make any sense. But i wouldnt expect anything intellectual from a UT fan.
