On Baschamania podcast Willie and Basch talked about Doucet possibly having another year of eligibility. Anyone with knowledge of this?
Last year he only wrestled in 2 events. Early November and Jan 3 dual. The 2nd semester dual might be an issue but the way the NCAA has been handing out medicals he has chance for one. I'm not sure what his injury was and if he even had oneOn Baschamania podcast Willie and Basch talked about Doucet possibly having another year of eligibility. Anyone with knowledge of this?
The rule is commonly thought of as based on semesters, but it is actually defined as halves of the season. For wrestling the first half is defined as "Before the start of the 10th date of competition". So the second half would start with the tenth date of competition. It looks like OSU's 1/3 dual meet was their eighth date. So it seems he would not be disqualified for the medical waiver on those grounds. He placed higher than Keuter didn’t he?If he does come back and Ferrari goes to to 197, Doucet would be the #2 highest returner at Hwt behind Ben Keuter.
Yea. Trumble, Bastida, and ghidali finished higher. All seniors. He placed higher than Keuter didn’t he?
yes. Staff LOVES Doucet. They'll keep him around as long as he's willing to be around.Regardless of eligibility, does anybody know if hes sticking around to train at the RTC for senior level competition?

Yep, that is what I said.He wrestled the 8th date and they had 15 on the schedule before big 12
I believe it's per each teams schedule and he participated past the 50% mark. Its not just they get x amount of dates it's how many dates the team they were on used. But a football just got his 4 medical RS so Doucet will probably get oneYep, that is what I said.
I quoted the definition of half used for wrestling in the rules in my first post. It isn't half in the math sense.I believe it's per each teams schedule and he participated past the 50% mark. At first 10 seems odd, as 16 seems to be the maximum competition dates for a D1 wrestling team.I quoted the definition of half used for wrestling in the rules in my first post. It isn't half in the math sense.
I have a surprise for you. Well, two surprises. At first 10 seems odd, as 16 seems to be the maximum competition dates for a D1 wrestling team.
Then again, as an individual could wrestle outside of a team's official competition dates, like Braeden Davis did at opens. So I don’t see why half a season should be tied to the team's wrestling schedule.
Then there is @WillieTheBrain implying it may be possible, seemingly admitting he doesn't know.
I understand the pure half for other sports, like football, where there's no analogy to opens or wrestling unattached.
So who is right... @Corby2 who "believes" or @Wrestleknownothing who professes to be quoting the rulebook without providing chapter, verse, and link and has a handle that inspires little confidence?
I have a surprise for you. Well, two surprises.
It isn't half for football either. It is before the 8th contest for FBS and before the 7th or 8th contest for FCS. 7th or 8th? Now that is just common sense.
The second surprise is that I have been playing the long con. To prepare everyone for our AI overlords half of everything I have said since joining the boards is made up. It is up to you to figure out which half. Or not. No worries either way.
But what do I know?
Did you ever think spreading your disinformation campaign on reddit would have a greater societal impact? The second surprise is that I have been playing the long con. To prepare everyone for our AI overlords half of everything I have said since joining the boards is made up.
How do you know it is disinformation? Maybe that post was among the other half.Did you ever think spreading your disinformation campaign on reddit would have a greater societal impact?
Whichever posts. Didn't mean to imply whole or parts of any particular oneHow do you know it is disinformation? Maybe that post was among the other half.

Ahh ... nothing ... what did I win?But what do I know?
Ahh ... when is half not math ... I dont know.It isn't half in the math sense.
When lawyers start writing.Ahh ... when is half not math ... I dont know.![]()
I watched the latest Stilly Boy show preparing for the US Open and he was wrestling with Wyatt. This could just mean he is helping Wyatt or he wants to wrestle some freestyle but he is still in the practice room.....wish this return question could be answered later today..................has anyone asked KD if he was interested?..................
Getting Doucet back for a year would be major lift but agree that giving Ross the year to acclimate to college would be huge for him. Just curious if you have any thoughts on the Raneys and how they might fit into the lineup next year?and would probably guarantee a Top 2 team finish while giving Dreshaun a season to acclimate.
In 100% of his seasons as head coach, the stone wasn’t chiseled until right before the conference tournament.for my full, up to date thoughts my Crystal Ball is reflective of that. it's premium content but it's updated often based on information and really comprehensive.
short answer though is that i think one of the Raney's start at whatever weight Jax isn't.
that being said, i guarantee as much as all of us want to speculate, DT has nothing carved in stone right now.
I came to say just this. Dre having a year to sit behind Doucet and use his redshirt dates to get acclimated would go a long way in getting him ready for 2027-2028.Getting Doucet back for a year would be major lift but agree that giving Ross the year to acclimate to college would be huge for him. And we saw what spending time in the room with Wyatt did for Doucet. I have no reason to believe it won't do the same for Dre.I hope he can come back, I'd love to have a room of KD and Wyatt for Ross to go against from time to time.
I hope this happens. This will solve a lot of problems for OSU. And will guarantee at least 4th place finish at HWT if not better for us.
Nope, he comes back, he wins it!Sorry but he's not a lock for top 4 next year. Yes, the weight clears out. It cleared out even more the year before (Wyatt, Gable, Kerkvliet, Schultz, Trephan, Heindselman).
New blood comes in and guys get better. The weight will reload next year and Konner will need to improve a lot if he wants to ensure a top 4 finish.
Best part of wrestling is he absolutely could…or go 0-2 and bust out.Nope, he comes back, he wins it!
You want me to take your money?Best part of wrestling is he absolutely could…or go 0-2 and bust out.
I mean who beats him? A healthy Feldman and Keuter are the only guys that really jump out to me right now.Sorry but he's not a lock for top 4 next year. Yes, the weight clears out. It cleared out even more the year before (Wyatt, Gable, Kerkvliet, Schultz, Trephan, Heindselman).
