I wear two masks only when I drive with my rubber gloves. I also wear two condoms when I have sex with my wife. I gotta stay safe.

I am BEGGING you for it. Please confront people in public places. And I hope I'm one of them.

You don't say **** to non maskers because you know you'll get your *** kicked.

Depends on the park or what mountain trail you or rw were in. Any federal property you are supposed to wear a mask, as part of Biden’s first exec order. News here had a report with Natchez Trace officials, that it even applied to walking on the trails along it.

Doesn’t mean I’m going to wear one out there... but technically it’s law now I guess. Not going to criticize someone if they want to wear one.

Because over 2.3 million people have died from Covid in less than a year and because they've asked us to wear masks and social distance. What's your threshold before you'd inconvenience yourself with a mask? Half a billion? More? 2 billion people need to die before you'll wear a mask? Just curious. Everyone has a threshold I'd assume.

I wear a mask every time I got in a store. Wear one when I’m not in my office at work too. I would encourage everyone to wear a mask when they are out in public. But I’m also not going to try and shame someone into wearing a mask.

But the whole point of my post was telling mobile that him making fun of someone choosing to wear a mask in a park is no different than the mask police shouting down someone for not wearing a mask.

This is really no different than the mask police criticizing people for not wearing a mask. If you wanna wear a mask or 12 mask fine. If you don’t want wear a mask fine. I don’t understand why everyone can’t just let other people do what they want and shut up about it.

This is how I look at it too.

If a person wears a mask (1 mask, 2 masks, etc.), then I have no problem with that.

Similarly, if a person doesn't wear a mask, then I have no problem with that either.

In my opinion, each individual is free to choose whether he/she wears a mask.

Am I wrong to think that way?

I only wear one where there is threat of a glfr bitching at me. It’s a show without any science backing. I’ll play your game because it’s not a big 17n deal. I won’t wear two. Also I’ll spend my money in the free state of Florida where there is some common sense from leadership instead of nutless senile leadership.

Also I’ll continue to exercise without a mask, not eat **** food, and generally be responsible for my health and well-being so that the flu is not a threat to my life.

I saw an interesting study about 6-8 months ago. It was out of the UK. Say what you will about their socialized medicine, but it does have one distinct advantage, centralized record keeping. So the doctors on this study had full access to the complete medical history. It concluded that 30% to 50% of the COVID deaths were unlikely to live six months without the disease.

If you look at the age breakdown of the dead, it further supports that this is a disease that mostly kills those who are already on deaths door.

So now this brings up a serious question. How many died because of this and how many died while having this but would be dead anyway for other reasons or would have died with any other disease? And then if the societal costs were worth it?

That's still 50% to 70% of the deaths being people who were not likely to die within six months without the disease.

Had we gone to a system where everyone was always masking outside and socially distancing when possible outside their household, we would not have to have the same level of societal costs. There's a good chunk of the population that is not going to get back out and spend at the levels they were pre-covid until they are vaccinated and covid rates are low. It doesn't matter what is permitted or not. They will stay home.

Another aspect that is still being explored is the long-term effects of the disease. If we have 1-2% of the cases die but have 5-10% of the cases develop long-term health problems there will be a huge long-term societal cost. The extent of that cost has yet to be revealed.

If you’re really concerned about spreading covid, you shouldn’t be playing sports. Playing sports with a mask is worse than not playing sports. So stay your *** at home.

Remember, this is about you and your crusade, so don’t come back talking about how I’m telling you to stay home. I’m just pointing out your brazen hypocrisy.

Coming at me hard here.
What crusade do I have? In public I dont tell anyone to wear a mask, I dont post **** on social media shaming people(I dont post on social media at all), and I dont expect people to stay home for everything.

My kids are in 3 activities each right now, I play volleyball, and I'm about to start back up with a youth mentorship program that meets 3x per week with 40 teens and 30 adults(its taken months of logistical planning to create distancing and tracing plans).

What exactly am I being hypocritical of?

Masks

So, I'm gonna say something that'll probably be unpopular with the mask nazi crowd here. One of my very best friends is a Cardiologist of almost 30 years. An expert in nuclear medicine. And a bulldog. He tells me that the virus simply does not travel like the politicians and political appointee scientists want you to think it travels. It's not a liquid droplet that comes out of your mouth or nose and curves down and hits the floor. It's a lighter than air aerosol, and floats to someone it infects. He said, "put on your mask. now put on your reading glasses. What happens?" "they fog up, right?" Correct. "Well, where do you think that air goes when your reading glasses aren't on?" "it floats out the top, side, bottom of masks and floats to the next person it infects through those same openings in their mask or masks. Whether that be their tear ducts, nose, or mouth." The only mask that would protect you or others around you is a respirator mask that seals to your face.

I live in FL and never wear a mask, I don't wear one at work, grocery store or out to dinner which I do frequently. I went on a trip to Jackson Hole and stayed at a resort that required a mask everywhere, even on the treadmill and I contracted Covid along with a dozen other people. Not that it matters but I wore the mask they provide at the airport when you arrive to Jackson as a welcome gift.

I actually agree with Biden on that executive order, but I wonder if he wears one all the time in the White House, even when sleeping. It's federal property. So is the White House lawn for that matter.

He's probably correct to an extent, but at least with a mask you're not spraying your aerosol-borne breath all over everybody.

Well another study I saw said that about 900,000 people will die as the result of the lockdowns and economic damage they have created. That is for the USA alone. So you are still looking at a huge number of deaths. But the lockdown deaths demographic is younger. I just don't think it was worth it.

It's quite simple. The only true way to prevent getting/spreading sickness is to stay at home, and only go out for essentials and/or a job, and when you do, wear a mask and socially distance. Maybe an outdoor activity now again out in the open. I actually respect people who do this and only this (I know of a few, not many, but a few). I don't agree with them, I think they are sheep with a lack of life experience, but I respect their stance.

You on the other hand, are 100% on the side of the maskholes, but you are out playing sports and living "your best life" or whatever new trendy saying you soy boys utter nowadays. You, my message board friend, are a hypocrite, and are adding to the COVID problem.
