If you want Nebraska in a bowl game the we want Ohio state in the playoff. Otherwise they slide down and take a bowl slot away from other big ten teams

But that argument can be made about almost every facet of society. Where do you draw the line? I know it’s just a game, and one could make the argument it isn’t worth it just for a game. But as has been said on here by so many others, these college students are gonna get it one way or another. At least with football it’s a more controlled environment, with kids being diagnosed and immediately quarantined rather than going undiagnosed and continuing the spread in the community.

There isn’t a perfect answer out there, as I see it.

there is not a perfect answer, I agree. and i think the season, although very difficult for those involved, was a success, at least by fans standards. and i have no problem with them playing. but again i get tired of people focusing strictly on individual responsibilities and outcomes when we are ALL linked together when it comes to infectious diseases. we have the ability to protect the whole community by making small sacrifices. a lot of people dont understand how protecting just the vulnerable in their family is not enough to protect the community. thanks for your decency
a communities protection is only as strong as its weakest link

"small sacrifices", in this case, is never leaving the house or seeing anyone you don't live with under any circumstances for 14 months or so until vaccinated.

Wait and see:

When the vaccines roll out, it will NOT be acceptable for vaccinated people to be out in public without masks, go to football games, restaurants, etc.

There will be huge numbers of people who will:

1) refuse to get vaccinated and
2) demand everyone else on Earth continue to live under a rock in order to protect their un-vaccinated choice.

Write it down.

John, yes they have done well. But if the other teams continue to play and tOSU does not, then the other teams are continuing to build their case for being in the playoffs while tOSU is not. Ongoing, weekly, consistent performance is part of the evaluation, not just what has been done in 1/2 or 40% of a season. That is my point, that "earning it" is a "flow of performance" over time, and tOSU's portfolio of proof is smaller numbers wise than other teams that have had to perform consistently week in and week out in more games. That is all I meant.

Nebraska has been right every step of the way. We should have started the season on time, should have built in continency, should have allowed out of conference games (like basketball!), should allow some fans, etc. Conversely, Northwestern talking heads and Warren have been wrong every step of the way. Warren is a joke of a commissioner who doesn't want to have to stand up and explain stupid decisions to members, has "secret" votes, and lets his own son play while saying he just wants to protect student athletes. Northwestern talking heads just sound like dopes as they cover sports in their high paying gigs but then want to try to take the "high ground" at the same time. Nebraska stands up for itself and that is admirable even when in the minority. That is true leadership and definitely the opposite of dopes like Warren and Northwestern talking chumps.

None of the OSU football sites I follow has mentioned a possible OSU-Texas A&M matchup. One OSU site has reported, according to two separate independent sources, Ohio State reached out to Ohio University for a game this weekend, a payday that would have been about $1 million dollars for OU. The game got shot down by the Big Ten

Michigan didn't put the conference in this situation, Warren did before the season ever started.

Out of idle curiosity, what's the issue the BIG has with OOC games this season?

Are they worried our programs are going to infect the entire nation?

I will never understand why Barry Alvarez has so much influence in the Big 10. I agree he should be removed from working on all future schedules.

I'm wondering if they told Moos we will get a home game next week, and they would lobby for us to get to a bowl if we win two more. I hope so anyway.

Did someone sitting in on a Big 10 AD meeting write the movie office space? The hypocrisy and stupidity out of this group just reeks. They could all be candidates for Congress.

So, they are asking the members who they side with. OSU or Indiana.

For the Big Ten championship game, I would be in the Team Indiana camp. It isn't right to change the rules now for something that should have been thought about months ago.

Foe the College Football Playoff, they do not have a minimum game requirement and OSU can be considered for that. If OSU thinks they need another game, let them go ahead and find another team either in conference our out of conference. Just don't screw Indiana over because of their short shortsightedness.

I’m going to try to keep this short and simple by saying you provide your own argument against yourself, by saying you have no idea about the varying states of difficulties or complications or however you put it. And that is spot on, right now we have no idea what the long term complications are, sure you can speculate but it’s just that pure speculation... if you choose to love life under a rock then so be it, but I’d say there’s plenty of evidence showing that a fit healthy football player can and will make a full recovery within a few short weeks about 99.9% of the time... sure there is or probably will be that .01% that will likely get blowin out of the water and for for bid it ever happens the media will run with it for sure... look a vast majority is not down playing the virus we know it’s real and it’s an issue, but we are also wanting to return back to normal life, we are not wanting to continue to thrash our economy and live in fear... follow protocols wash your nasty hands and go about your day

Big Ten doesn't want OOC games because it will show what a crock of **** their "rules and guidelines for safety" are when the game is played an no one dies and the world doesn't end.

I agree with the big Ten rule against not playing out of conference games (he says as he watches Nebraska play Georgia Tech in the ACC Big Ten challenge).

There are many young people getting really sick and dying from the flu... They are not being quarantined and told to stop living life.
