A winning record was a goal this year and it's disappointing we'll finish below .500 considering a winning record was certainly attainable.

But I guess, like football, we just need to improve with small accomplishments up the mountain.

Don't finish in last place!

I'll consider that improvement. It has to be. Every media day before the season we're picked to finish last.

Next up (year)...winning season.

We'll worry about dancing or post-season after that.

We can win 17 (not including tournament) games next year if Corey comes back. Will be a much better team. This season had 15 wins written all over it

In my view if we can pick up that 4th win against Illinois and finish 12th I will call that an improvement. Should we have finished at or above .500? Probably. But this team was too inconsistent. One thing they do well is play hard for the most part. Once we couple that with good outside shooting, we will see an excellent team out there. I think we're two years away from that.

My opinion on what it will take to improve enough to be a winning team
1st step: get them to play hard, never giving up ( think that's been accomplished)
2nd step: get each them to play as a team, every game. ( some games this season don't look like that's happening. Next year I expect it)
3rd step: get them to know and play within their limits. ( hard to do, but if Pike brings in the type of players I think he's trying for, good chance this step is going to happen more often than not.)
4th step: start winning enough to make post season play ( I think RU will , in a couple of years)

My ceiling for this roster was 6 B1G wins...getting to 4 plus a 1-1 MSG showing would be a strong finish considering the 8 games Mike Williams missed.

There are some very interesting items on how quickly things can change in a good way for RU over the next 6 months of recruiting.

Standings wise, two evenly matched teams (if we don't shoot blanks) playing for the bottom of the totem pole. At least it's home.

That's really what it comes down to - if we lose, we're last, and deservedly so. Battle of the basement on Sunday... just hoping Baker is healthy enough to play.

This . . . and hope he has not infected any teammates! The virus going around these days is really strong. I know so many people who have been knocked out by it.

If we had won the battle of StonyHart...we'd be in position for .500 with a W against Illini.
Also, if we had pulled off a W agasint MSU in OT, or beat Purdue we'd be over
the .500 mark.

We need to play each play with passion, thought / make it count. Throwing the ball away, giving up on plays, fouling without a purpose (i.e. if
you're going to foul, make sure that the shot doesn't go in), taking better shots / improving our shooting % (and scoring) & improving our FT's: Rutgers where each shot counts!

Did not want to end up in last place (Iowa up big) but on the bright side, I would rather face Minny in the tournament instead of another go at Illinois. They say it is tough to eat someone three times in a season but I just don't like that match up after today's performance plus Minny is not hot.

Stop calling it 14th place. Call it what it means: DEAD LAST.

And every media publication already has us penciled in for dead last next year.
