The bi-polar nature of this board is ridiculous. I had serious doubt about tonight and couldnt even express it without all of the pumping bull**** going on. Where is that 1 seed path? Let's get caneintally in here and figure it out.
It's not an issue of wanting Cal gone, it's noticing that the game has changed, recruiting has changed, and everything else has changed since 2009 EXCEPT JOHN CALIPARI.
He needs to do what all professionals do and adjust to the TIMES. You are not longer the only OAD coach in the game. You arent going to get 4 of the top ten anymore. You can't approach this like you would 2008. And he's just doing the same damn thing.
Players first is fine until the players buy into it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out whats going on. As I said in another post, Cal wants to be the guy who coached a bunch of NBA guys, he doesn't want to be the coach that NBA guys played for. There's a big difference right there. And his selling pitches are killing his ends.
Cal needs to adjust and has needed to for a while. Enough of the fire cal or cal is God crap. Enough with comparing Cal to G or Tubby.

This team certainly has problems right now that make me scratch my head. Something is definitely up. Cal certainly isn't perfect, and this team has definitely digressed. But sadly, this is the norm.................ridiculous posters that crawl out of the woodwork after embarrassing losses.

A team that starts 5 players of which only 1 is better than an average shooter with absolutely no back to the basket post game is not going to suddenly get it when it matters most. Add to that they can't defend very well and you have what you're seeing. The sad thing is that the team we will have next year (as presently known) will be way more offensively challenged than this one. Maybe they will be able to defend better. The "plan" reached it's zenith with the 38-1 squad. Maybe there'll be another one before Brad graduates but it all depends on the level of OADs available and if Cal will (not can) sign any of the ones that can shoot.
I'm at the point that I think I need to avoid Rafters for a day or two after a loss. I feel dumber just reading this crap.
Ditto. I've just about come to the same conclusion.
What is maddening to me is WHO IN THE WORLD DO THESE PEOPLE WANT?? If they can't be pleased with the last eight years of UK Basketball on the whole, then there really isn't any point wasting time trying to reason with them.

I know who won't be coming - Brad Stevens, 2015 Eastern Conference coach of the year, 2016 NBA COY candidate and building a team in Boston on the back of Isaiah Thomas and company , now currently in second place behind the defending champions Cavs.
We have freshman laden teams every year, I liken them to being an addict, some special teams can cut their bad habits cold turkey and rarely struggle during the regular season. On the other hand a lot of them have to hit rock bottom but in the end figure it out and are great come tourney time. In short let it play out and let the team grow, we have plenty of talent that if we play well come march our seed won't matter
SemperFi, come on, being ex military, you know who gets the blame if you don't perform. Cal gets paid a lot of money to do the job. Quit kicking the players out the door to the NBA before their ready. Cal's ego is much to big. He likes to brag about how many players he has sent to the NBA, how much they make,and how many first rounders he has. That's fine if your winning Championships, but he's NOT. It's great to get all these 5 stars, but you must be able to coach them up.

Fans that want to fire Cal with a top 10 team and the success he has had - winningiest teams last 7 years - with no other option to replace him are dumb.

I agree with this.
Ive kinda wanted to see him move on for a couple years... and not because I am unappreciative or don't think he can win another title. I've just grown tired of the system, of the departures. Winning seems a bit muted because you know the players are gone soon after, and losing hurts twice as much because the investment isn't working.
OAD isn't for me.
