It’s wake surfing. The boats have bags that fill with water and sinks the back of the boat, which creates a big wave. As long as you’re in front of the wave, you’ll stay up without the rope. The boat is only moving at about 10 or 12 MPH. It’s pretty easy to do and a lot of fun too.

You get up and start riding the board using a ski rope. Find the sweet spot in the wake and let go of the rope.

I’m certainly not an expert and had never even heard this argument until you brought it up. Google leads me to believe this is an actual problem at some places. But I just have to believe it has to be a pretty shallow and narrow lake to lake to cause any issues.

Somewhere like the Rez, I can’t imagine surfing or wake boarding causes any issues.
