Cali may have a point, especially considering what is happening with Utah. They win the ASUN and they will have gone undefeated since losing to us. That really helps. Granted, some other chips have to fall exactly right. Then the committee may look at the possibility of four B1G teams getting in, and it would boil down to an 8-7 Michigan team (provided MD wins) and RU at 8-6 with the head to head game in hand. We would also be sitting with a better strength of schedule.

Well we beat Michigan four weeks ago.

Again, the eye test doesn’t matter. If it did we would have made the tournament after we beat Hopkins twice and they made it over us.

The committee in the past has strictly looked at metrics. That’s the game. Will it change this year, we will see.

I’m a fair guy. Make cases for other bubble teams. That’s who we are up against. Who are those other teams? Someone has to okay in this tournament. Who are they?

Cornell is in. I think Penn is bubble out. The question is does a losing Yale or Princeton have enough juice? I think Yale might but I don’t think Princeton does. We might be better off with Yale winning the Ivy.

I think the loser of GT / Denver is bubble in. I think Nova is out.

If Loyola wins, one of Army or BU is in, but not both. I think Loyola is out with a loss. That puts BU squarely in the bubble. This might be another situation like Princeton where we might be better off with a loss, even though a win helps our quality win factor.

So assuming Maryland and ND wins, the last 2 spots come down:

Rutgers/Michigan, Princeton/Yale or Loyola/Army/BU.

I think we have a good shot vs Michigan, Loyola & Princeton based on head to head. We will have a tough time if it comes down to Army and Yale. BU is a wildcard. Penn & Nova are highly ranked, but I just don’t see either having a strong tournament resume.

I think we are last in or first out. Unfortunately I think we are closer of first out. The OSU loss is a dagger. We win that one I think we are in relatively comfortably.
