1) Rule changes have allowed for higher scoring games
2) We don't have a prototypical rim protector. That's not going to change this season. Having 1 or 2 is about the only way to be elite defensively in the current college basketball environment.
3) When UK pushes the ball down the court and scores in 5-10secs the other teams are going to have a lot of possessions
4) UCLA and UNC were firing on all cylinders offensively. That happens. They are both supremely talented offensive teams that were having plus nights.
5) Playing passing lanes will get better with time and experience. Position defense will get better too, but playing a another quick and athletic team doesn't really allow for position based defense anyway.
