Not talking about personnel. That is the same scheme we have run for the past 10 years. You are probably right on Kylin, but I said he should be getting the bulk of carries last year.

The truth is we don't have a QB that can do what Moorhead wants. Neither can throw the long ball with enough accuracy.

This team was built by Mullen for Mullens offense. I'm glad Moorhead has enough sense to understand this and not force a bunch of bombs that will fall incomplete or get intercepted

His accuracy has been good. He just puts too much power in his throws. He needs to dial it down a bit. Last year we always seemed to catch it a foot from the 1st down marker. This year he is sailing them.

You are right he needs to dial it down. Throws way to hard

But His accuracy on anything deep has NOT been good

He is what he is. If we want Fitz to start we have to accept that our offense will look similar to Mullen's. Fitz just isn't accurate enough

Definitely not the same scheme. It’s similar, but not the same for sure.

Aeries Williams would have gotten 80% of the snaps. Dan Mullen would have taken his foot off the gas too, but we still would have won big.

You're out of your mind. The route concepts are completely different and the way the RBs are used in the passing game is completely different. Mullen never got WRs open and we always had multiple guys in the same area often times.

The RPO plays are awesome as well. I guess you just don't know what to look for.

The way Moorhead relies on his guys is differ too. He get's his main guys and rides them the whole game like Malzahn kinda.

It's very similar. Fitz will keep on the reads a lot more than mcsorley did.

The first two possessions were straight out of Mullen's playbook, especially that 10 play drive for a FG. Pretty much nothing but read option. Offense opened up significantly after that.

We never ran this much RPO with Mullen! Nearly every play has an RPO component. That is a big deal and very hard to defend. When offensive lineman are coming out run blocking on most plays, but 1/2 the plays are passes it becomes really difficult for a linebacker to trust his keys. Usually they are keying on offensive lineman to determine either to run fill or drop in coverage.

did you miss all the throws? Moorhead tried. Fitz was just having an off day today on some of his throws. Our Qb's have had to make a big adjustment to this offense. It's not going to happen overnight. Mullen never threw that much downfield. It's going to take few games for them to get into a rhythm.

What I liked was we had plays that were working and JoMo kept running them. The defense was put in a position that forced modification to stop specific Miss St. plays. Before the defense did not have to modify because Mullen would take his foot off the oppositions neck and diversify the offense, it was the OC that would shut down MSU offense, thru play selection diversity, and not the defense?

I think it had a lot to do with our Quarterback couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a bass fiddle today. Hopefully it was just rust. My fear is this is just who he is and he’ll never be a 60% passer. I’m not ready to concede that yet though. He’s absolutely got to play better though.

yes that is somewhat true. I liked that he kept trying it, but it was also frustrating because i think we could have run for 600 yards on Kansas State. I was getting frustrated with having to punt from missing throws instead of just running and scoring. I just wanted us to put the game away as easy as possible.
