Does this translate into getting a top transfer?

A stretch 4 with experience. Basically a Yeboah clone.
Agree only transfer that makes sense would be a sit out. Point guard would be my number 1 position of need for 2021 at this time.
I think the 20/21 roster is full now. Unless I'm mistaken, we would need someone to transfer out to get a grad transfer.
Harper is the starting four, so you can get that idea out of your head lol.

Well, he’s kind of a 3/4 hybrid. Which is the same thing Yeboah was.
We need a guy who can shoot 3’s and defend both WF’s and PF’s. As it stands now McConnell will probably have to fill that role but he’ll be a poor mans Yeboah for sure.
That said, backup 5 was our biggest need and we just filled that role beautifully.

I’m curious if our relative inactivity in the transfer market so far is indicative of the staffs optimism about our incoming class (perhaps Palmquist, specifically). Obviously a long way to go, but guys like Dimencio Vaughn seem to be natural fits on paper yet we haven’t contacted them
Yes, Harper has to be our new Yeboah, with the same poise, efficiency, decision making, and stability. He doesn't need to to "try" to do anymore.
KISS has used up four of his five years so unless he is set to graduate this year, and I have heard nothing to suggest he is graduating, he can’t transfer. Why would anyone take a transfer who has to sit out his last year of eligibility. He can go down to d2 or d3 and play I guess, but he may prefer a Rutgers degree.
There is no need or scholarship for grad transfer on this team.
All the guard roles are filled. (Geo/Paul, Tez/JY, Kiss)

All the Wing/Forwards roles (RHJ, McConnell, Palmquist/Mag/Reiber)
Cliff will fill Carter's role and more.

If a kid chooses to come to Rutgers, is a good kid, is giving his best in the classroom and on the court, I want to see kids stay and get their degree from one of the Top 50 universities in the world. As big a Rutgers sports fan as I am, I have always said I don’t want us to become Kentucky, Miami, Oklahoma, UNLV, North Carolina, etc. I don’t want Coach Pike to run kids out of the school. Everything I have heard says he is not that type of guy. Just my two cents.

Harper is a bigger and more athletic stretch four then Yeboah right now.
I loved Yeboah as a player as much as anyone but Harper will be even better at that position.
Harper is a little longer and a better rebounder. Yeboah the more proven shooter for now.
We have the best of Oskar, Reiber, Mawot, and Duke to back him up.
We have good options at the 3.
Caleb lost his confidence but at times was as good as anyone on the team and the ability to play 1-3 at least.
Mathis inconsistent but spectacular at times also at 2 or 3
PM may turn into a wing type also with the versatility to play 1-3
Geo and Young the starting back court in my opinion.
Continued improvement and consistency from a majority of the returners and we can be a top 15 team.
Anything unexpectedly good from Oskar, Reiber, Mawot or Duke and maybe even better.
We struggled last year when we went into scoring droughts or when we needed to defend and rebound without Miles.
Cliff solves the one issue for us for sure as we will have a long, athletic, rim defender on the floor at all times.
The next step is for Pyke and company to improve the offensive flow and efficiency.
To do that we need:
1. Establish a couple of Alphas, guys that want the ball when we need a bucket
Geo, Young, Harper
2. Embrace the 3, its the best tool in the modern game.
Certain guys need to know that they always have the green light. Shooting is all about the mind in many guys, take away any hesitancy and get guys to shoot without conscience and you will see percentages go up. (Ever notice how many 3s are made late in a game when players don't think about it)
3. Develop the inside game which is not in conflict with #2. Someone seems to have convinced Miles that he has to overpower people. I see Miles as a finesse guy around the basket with some power moves. He has great hands and good feet and has moments where he can fake and get an easier look. He should be shooting thousands of 10 footers everyday. A fade away turning to one side and a little hook to the other makes him an NBA player. Harper has developed a nice turn around jumper too which needs to be exploited when other things aren't working

We need someone who has a high 3pt shooting percentage and high FT%...that is about it IMO
Also, all offseason these guys should just be practicing FTs...that will be the difference in every game next year and set us apart from being middle of the pack to the top of the pack

Just wonder if McConnell can be our shooting guy. Such a sound shooting stroke.
Harper ended up being a within .003 of Yeboah for the season in both 2P% and 3P%, and a better outside shooter during conference play when the competition level stepped up. What he needs to develop (and I'm confident he will) is the "cagey vet" skillset - where he can beat players through greater experience, rather than having to rely on greater talent/athleticism. Big things on the horizon for Harper as a rising junior.
Right now...another stretch four thar can play three ...essentially another yeboah “clone”...is our only missing “piece”...in the event Harper got hurt

Is Oskar a little older? Saw a highlight of him at the euro U-18's and it was from 2 years ago. U-20 from this year.
Is he a guy we hope may be able to step right in and contribute?
Yes he is 20. Pikiell mentioned how athletic Oskar was, seemed very pleasantly surprised what he saw in practice. I believe he will contribute early.
You lost me when you included Duke in your list of back ups for RH at the 4. Became abundantly clear to me that Duke cannot play in space. I thought Akwasi did a little more of the dirty work than RH did this past year. RH can do some of that and should look to take the ball to the basket and post up more when Myles is not on the floor or with Myles at the foul line making the entry pass. I expect RH to be even more physically imposing after another season in the weight room. It would take a special add for us to consider taking another player for this year or as a sit out transfer. I would think the staff is feeling good about adding pieces to the Jaden Jones 21 class.
