Does this mean we have a QB controversy?

What happens if/when Stevens gets healthy? He's got better passing mechanics, perhaps, but I like the way the offense plays with Schrader in the game. Did the kid take the starting job today? Wouldn't be the first time an injury opened the door and somebody stepped up and made the most of the opportunity.

I still think a healthy Stevens gives us the best chance to win.

If/when TS gets healthy I imagine he gets his job back. But I would certainly play GS some for the experience and he can certainly help us too.

Stevens just doesn’t have the run element that Shrader has, and never will. Shrader doesn’t currently have the downfield passing touch, but he might get it over time. Even if TS gets his job back, Shrader needs a few series / packages every single game. That allows us to be much more wide open with the offense when we can bring in the zone read game, which nobody really will respect much with Stevens.

Shrader won the job today.

It is incredible the improvement of Shrader from the spring game to the KSU game. Then he made another big jump today. I think he improved his reads and passing today compared
to last week. The kid has a lot of talent. He will continue to get better and better.

I'll say Stevens although the rate GS seems to be improving that could certainly change. If Stevens is out another 4 weeks it's anyone's guess.

It can’t be anybody’s team if that guy can’t stay on the field. Fair or unfair, Stevens has quite the injury history, and Shrader seems to be tough as nails up to this point, just like Fitz was. That plays a big factor.

Stevens Healthy is probably the better choice. Right now he’s the better pass threat I think and that’s what this offense needs. GS is going to be darn good tho.

Honestly I don't wanna see shrader again this year. The thought of him for the next 4 years makes me wooly.

Stevens is injured and is trying to run the offense like it is supposed to run. If he’s an uninjured freshman he runs just as well or better than Shrader. Hell the guy played wide receiver and running back at penn state in addition to qb mop up duty where he ran most of the time.
