Don’t want to overreact, but it’s never good to see the front seven get manhandled like that. It reminds me of this years game against Minnesota, but worse. Like Minnesota, Wisconsin came out in a jumbo package at times and ran it down our throats at will. It’s just evident we’ve never been able to win physically against Wisconsin, they’ve always out muscled us. It makes you question if we recruit/develop the right size of player to truly contend in the BIG.

We missed JoJo TREMENDOUSLY on run fills and tackling. THAT is my biggest concern. Our backers need to grow in to men over the summer.

D will be fine. Some of the young guys got thrown into action today so that experience will pay off.
You don't always replace an NFL guy immediatly the next game unless the next guy is also an NFL guy. An off-season of development will pay off.

Yes. The defense will not be nearly as good next year. And whether Adrian is back or not the offense isn't going to be much improved, if at all. Frost is a dead man walking IMO.
Defense will be every bit as good. The offense will be much better. And I like to think there is only one way for the ST to go.
The defense has bothered me all year I think the only reason you’ve not heard a lot of complaints about it is because the offense has been so bad it was overshadowed but against Ohio State they said a school record for most receiving yards by one receiver somebody at think it was Minnesota set a school record for consecutive completed passes and then yesterday a 17 year old runs virtually untouched wherever he wants to go I think chins has been playing a super soft defense to try to slow the game down and keep the score down because he knows we had such a bad offense but I would not at all be upset to see a couple defensive coaches fired including chins himself
Gifford is on scholarship. He was the third string nickel behind JoJo and Wright. Kind of forced into action.

The counter to that is that Gifford is just that good regardless of how he was recruited or how long he's been in the program. We stole one when we got Gifford.
I’m always surprised when I see how big Wisconsin’s linebackers are compared to ours.
Gifford will be a solid player. He's at or above the development level his brother was at a similar stage in his career.

Gunnerson played a lot He will be good. I'm not concerned about the D next year. These younger guys are more talented than what our typical backups were going back to the Bo P. days. They have recruited well on that side of the ball beside a couple of things that are missing.
If Nebraska stops tackling with their shoulders, head down, they’ll be fine.
G. Nelson also has a ton of potential, but he likes to run himself out of plays and frees up his side a ton.
I didn’t like that the tackling from the secondary (mainly Farmer and CTB), but I trust our staff to address that in film. Frost even made note of it in the press conference. I’m way more worried about offense and ST going into next year.
Film is great if you have a solid fundamental foundation. Film and strategy are pretty much worthless if the fundamentals aren't there. That is when you hear coaches talk about lack of execution and where Nebraska has been for over two decades.

BTW. I looked at the roster Gunnerson was a top 350 National player. He isn’t a walk on
