Does the Ben Miles kid have a future here?

It's not like the I formation is going to be used beyond a token look here and there. Is he a good pass-catcher? H-back type or maybe a defensive player?

Its a good question.
I believe the staff will be honest with him and if he stays it means they have a spot for him if he can earn it.
If he leaves we will know why.

This type of question will be found out during spring ball. Along with many other players.

We’re striving for championships now, sit him down like his daddy did to many players at LSU and if you feel he is a non-factor in your offense “encourage” him to transfer.... the $EC way... him and his dad will understand

That's supposedly not how Nebraska operates. But I guess that's the desire of the fanbase for Frost to do.

It is how every school operates and it isn't "bad" or "evil" the head coach isn't up in his tower stroking his mustache...

You sit the kid down and you say "Here is the deal, in this offense we don't really have a true role for your skills, that doesn't mean you can't contribute both in practice and on special teams but if your goal is a lot of playing time I am not 100% sure that will happen and it won't be for lack of effort on your part, I know you are a hard worker, you don't get to this point in football without working hard, but I just wanted to give you a heads up, we want you here for sure but I just wanted to lay it for you."

C'mon now! SF is MacGyver and Chuck Norris rolled into one :p He will find a spot for the kid if he thinks he fits. There will also be times and situations for his skills. Even UCF had a jumbo set this year with a makeshift FB.

Just because Les Miles was an oversigner and treated several of his players at LSU like crap does not mean that Nebraska has to do the same thing.

I would think H-back, slot back, etc. are all options for him. Frankly if he wants to play at the next level doing those well would increase chances of doing that vs. lead blocking full back. You WILL block as a receiver in Frost's offense or ride pine.

Couldn’t be any worse than the Center we have used the last few years. He also is probably just as tall.

It is not some evil thing! It is in the best interest of the kid if the kid dreams of playing a lot.

If you hurt your wrist and your doctor knows nothing about wrists are you still going to use him or are you going to look around a bit for someone that might be able to help you out?

Miles can play for Frost IF he wants. Frost has used guys like him as TEs and H-Backs not to mention Oregon always had a thumper RB on the roster. Blount went about 235 at Oregon. It will be fun to watch how Frost tailors his offense to take full advantage of the talent he has.
