He does have a free year.
Though I can’t imagine him staying in school a 6th year vs going to Europe or Asia and making some dough
Him staying a 5th or 6thbyear won’t increase his nba chances. He is who he is right now. Prob best bet is he tries to make some money.

This year doesn’t count against anyone. That being said, I can easily see him make money overseas. Geo might come back

My uninformed, wild guess is that everyone will be back except JY. I agree he's ready to go make some money overseas.

My issue is. He doesn't have to improve on defense to play in europe but would another year under pike improve his offense and his value?

One thing is that his family doesn’t need the money. But I expect him to move on.

One final comment. I'm 66 and the only comparison of defense I've ever seen was eddie green ves eddie Jordon in final4 1976. Guard category. Green at him up. Young reminds me. Sorry younger fans I'm just older and remember

It was Rickey Green...and he was way faster than Jordan....or any of our guards.

All up in the air. JY can make money next year or get a year of graduate classes and make the money the year after? There might be the desire to win a Big 10 Championship. Many of the schools are losing their top players like Garza, Dosumu, probably Cockburn as well. Not sure what the Michigan kids will do?

He's already a grad student and next year would be his 6th year as a college basketball player (including the redshirt year). So I would suspect he will leave after this year to play professionally somewhere.

He can grad transfer to another school to be a definite starter

Personally id like Jaden Jones to see alot of time. Someone will have to leave for that to happen
