A national championship in any of our lifetimes?

If not what is the point?
With NIL it’ll be the same 4-6 Rinse and repeat as it’s been since BCS anyhow.

I know it’s all about money and travel but Bowls and championship games are played in environments that favor speed and the south/West.

Would love to see the SEC come to Iowa or Minnesota in November. Demographics definitely play into style needed and the BIG has elements that dictate recruiting differently than the south.

Long story short No unfortunately very hard to see Iowa winning one in the current format.

Money...where have you been?
Truth. I can say the only sports I watch are UFC and Iowa football and basketball. I will
Say my attention has wained recently around all sports. I feel like the money and entitlement has ruined the game for me. The average person has been priced out of taking the family to any professional sporting event. Complete rip off

Lots of good memories and entertainment by having a competitive program. I would love to see a Rose Bowl win or a National title but so does Wisconsin ,,ND, Michigan, Penn State, UCLA, and on and on……..probably not going to happen.

If your hanging your life hopes on iowa winning a national championship, I hate to say your life is likely wasted but....

Just enjoy the wins. Many programs have never had the success of Iowa. (Cough, cough.... Iowa state, cough).

Priced out by whom?
By ridiculous contracts, 12-15 dollar beers, food, merchandise, parking to name a few. Do you live in a state with professional sports?

How many families can afford to take Mom/Dad and 2-3 kids to the game? Get some food/drinks/a jersey or hat and take it all in? What’s that run the average family to do that? And for what so baseball can have 300M contracts? So NBA players can be paid stupid money and miss road games for rest?

What rest? They have private chefs, personal assistants/5 star hotels/laundry service/massage on demand and top medical treatment and care/private planes/chafers and personal drivers but need “load” management.

So if a healthy scratch you think fans should be able to get full refund for tickets if that team/player only their 1 game a year and decide to “rest”.

Some people have to budget amd work
Hard to afford those “pleasures” and it’s hella expensive and a slap on the face to those that help these players make the unreal ans stupid money. So I’ve chosen to care less about it all and College sports heading that way more so with the NIL.

it’s always been pay to play I guess but it’s pretty much pro now and just not for me. Same 4-6 teams rinse and repeat. I’ll still watch Iowa but the passion has definitely faded.

College sports success should not be defined solely, or even primarily, by national titles. That's a mighty narrow definition of success since there can only be one national champion a year. All I ask is for Iowa football to maximize its opportunities to win by, for example, trying to score touchdowns as well as trying to stop the other team from scoring them. I want Iowa to play somebody better than Northern Illinois or Arkansas State or UNI in the nonconference. I want Iowa to play an entertaining brand of football that keeps the Hawkeyes competitive and gives them a shot at a special season here and there (like 2015, which left the Hawkeyes a few seconds short of a playoff berth.)

But anyone who thinks a successful program must win a national title every few years is delusional. That's certainly not my definition of success. Right now, not finishing 130th on offense would be a good first step in a quest for relevance.

Can’t win a NC if your offense can’t score. Simple as that. Some possible NC caliber defenses have been waisted multiple times.

I can see a playoff appearance happening. Even if Iowa makes it to the final, I can’t imagine ticket prices. Better start saving yesterday 😂👍🏻
