I don't think so. Kirk has not fared well against the SEC in bowls lately, and Moorhead owned Iowa as O.C. at Penn State. Also keep in mind Fant is not playing in the bowl game.
More importantly Iowa is 1-5 in bowl game since Nebraska joined the B1G is a bigger factor than Stanley being 1-0 in the Yankee bowl.
Iowa versus a fast, athletic team in a bowl game? Easy money, another blowout loss until they prove different. Put up or shut up.
Moo State has one of the best defenses around, especially their front seven. Whoever gets to 14 will win.
This is kind of what I think. MSU has a legit defense; Iowa's is good to very good. Iowa's offense might be a step above MSU on offense but pretty even. Going to be a slugfest.
Iowa loses. We were their super bowl based on all the jackasses that swarmed our site afterwards. Big post super bowl let down in their bowl game.
I am not sure we can move the ball on them, but their offense is suspect as well, against our defense. It will be interesting but turnovers and field position may play a big roll in this game.

Plus you will need Hockenson to stay in and block because that Miss St front 7 is going to give your OLine fits.

I guess I would like to know how Nebraska being in the conference and Iowa winning or losing their bowl games in the past (btw no correlation) is a bigger factor than the players that are going to be playing in the upcoming game itself in the outcome. I wouldn’t mind hearing that logic.
Fant was your only way to spread the field vertically. Hockensen can do it all, and is impressive. Fant creates mismatches, and will probably be drafted ahead or an earlier round thanHockensen, whenever he declares.
Espenesa could be a high round guy along with the Norse looking guy on the other side. (Nelson?). Now to throw some rain, is Stanley still drafted in the first round? Lol.
Wide receivers? Linebackers? They both suck on your team.

edit Iowa loses badly. Their defense tires towards the end of the third and loses 31-9.

As much as I want to see both teams lose it cant happen. I think Iowa wins this one as Miss States QB is not a good passer at all. If Iowas front 7 can slow hos running ability down then Iowa will blow them out.
Neither is Stanley, I believe he is very close to the Mendoza line. Cowbells are more talented and deeper.
Stanley had a few rough games but he throws the ball pretty well. He threw it very well against Nebraska.
Florida’s offense was still putrid in that game aside from one play basically. It was 10-3 at half with one 85 yard run from Florida being the difference. The Gators did come out and make a long drive for the only other offensive TD of the game. A pick six account for one TD and two Beathard INTs set up two Florida FGs.
This game doesn’t do much for me. Iowa won’t score more than 14 points. Stanley isn’t good against good defenses so getting to 14 is gonna be a struggle. I’m scheduled to work that day and I’m not even upset about it. I’ve seen this movie a time or two.
I think More Cowbell and the Lions both win, but it's bowl season, so the real question is who really wants to play where they are, sounded to me like Iowa "pulled strings" behind the scene to get to Tampa, so maybe they show up with more want too...
I'm just glad this phony Mike Riley-based winning streak that Iowa has over us will be over in '19. They know they're done for, after winning with a last-second FG at home against our freshman led team, with new systems on both sides of the ball. And only 10 months into the New S&C program. It'll be nice to finally put that stupid 'Mr. Sprinkles Hip Hip' streak out of it's fricking misery..
