Agreed.

Probably Capel leaving or if you buy the whole Nike steering conspiracy, then the lack of Nike cash flowing to recruits because of the scandal.

I think it's Capel. I also believe that K is growing tired of having Freshmen led teams. I think he is trying to land a couple 5-star studs to go with his veterans to build a team more like he has been successful with in the past.

He is probably planning on Jones, O'Connell, DeLaurier, Bolden, Goldwire, and White being his veteran role players to lean on with Moore and one of Stewart or Carey being the stars of the show.

Jones gives them an elite experienced PG. O'Connell is their shooter. Moore is their athletic wing. Stewart or Carey will be their inside scorer. Bolden or DeLaurier will be their rebound, defend, do all the dirty work player. Then they'll have the veterans on the bench.

K will tire of it though because it's not the same in that very good players once stayed. Now, not only elite guys leave, but also the Kennards of the world who take the first chance to get out of Dodge. If O'Connell, for example, blows up and has a great year this year or next, he'll likely be gone. Same for Jones.

Cal has alluded to the reality that some coaches are facing, coaches who wanted to try OAD and are finding "it's harder than it looks." No doubt he aimed that at K.

I can see what you're saying. I don't think he's trying to necessarily keep the veterans around as much as he's just simply not getting the OAD type guys anymore. The well has ran dry seems like to me, whatever the "well" was.

Edit: in other words, K would take commitments from all these OAD guys. When he misses, the narrative changes to he's trying to surround a couple OADs to go with veterans. Problem is that those veterans hardly ever see the floor in order to develop. I just think Duke isn't as attractive as it has been recently, for whatever reason. Personally, I think they were cheating in one way or another. That's just me. Easy to cheat when you're not held accountable for your actions. The FBI will make them be held accountable for said actions, whereas the NCAA will not. I think that's where the problem lies.

You have faith in the FBI?

I don't. But maybe they'll choose to be impartial when politics aren't involved. They need to work on their reputation somehow after a certain group of people compromised their integrity and used them as a political enforcement wing.

No. More than the NCAA, though.

I know he’s ranked high so he’s likely very good but has anyone seen him play before?

He probably already has a Sam Gilbert who takes care of players, and K turns his said, so that he can say he didn't know.

He reminds me of one of the characters from ‘In Living Color’

I can't let your post go unappreciated. It counts as the first form of mockery for Moore in the post-commitment period of his life, at least from this message board. There will undoubtedly be many more, but this one was the first.

Well done, sir.

I got you and I’m ready to go
Wendell can play and has led the CP3 teams the past two summers in everything. He doesnt do anything great besides compete and he does everything well. He handles, defends, drives, passes and he can shoot just well enough to be guarded at the three point line. But the kid is a winner. I saw him as a three year player at UNC but he will get his chance to be Chris Carrawell for Duke. I dont see one and done.

He is mediocre, about like a majority of what Duke signed this year.. Like another poster said, slashing brick layers that is overhyped because they went to Duke..
