With tonight’s loss, I think Duke moves to a unanimous #1 ranking.
Duke only has one loss. Can't count the losses with injuries. Coach K said so.

Come on you don’t believe that. Zion is a game changegr he’s not just another star player. Without him, Duke has to PROVE they are even good much less elite which UK is with Reid who will be back when elite is needed (at Tenn)

If Tre Jones is a first round pick then this must be the weakest draft ever.

#5 with the best recruiting class in history? The fact that is was a beatdown at home in Feb shouldnt apply.
Why shouldn’t it? Duke NEEDS Zion, RJ, Cam and Tre to have a chance. Not minus 1 of ANY of them. That’s a fact as far as I can see.

From this, to melting down on the officials, to "throwing his controller" at an opposing player when they celebrated, to throwing his team under the bus, to throwing things AT his teams, to not giving half time interviews, to only going into opposing lockers when they win, to endless blowby handshakes, and to an endless amount of sanctimonious interviews..
Coach K is a real piece of ****. I can't think of many worse human beings at their core in a head coaching position.

My two all-time favorite K moments were the times he condescendingly visited the Mercer locker room to remind them of what a great upset they just pulled off, and the time Corey Maggette hid under the bed from him because he knew K was going to try to talk him out of entering the draft early.

Duke drops to #3 and UNC rises to #4 bumping us down to #5. I can see it now. ESPN would love to have 3 ACC teams ranked in the top 4.

2. Gonzaga
3. Duke
4. Kentucky
5. Tennessee
6. UNC
7. Michigan

Kentucky will have a tough time without Travis on Saturday. Auburn was without one of
their big men the first time ~ Richards and EJ are going to have to step up big time. I really hope RT gets back soon from his injury because he does more on the defensive end to create disruptions for the opponent. UK will be in a dogfight Saturday without him...

I don't think they will drop from a 1 seed because of the injuries. I think that's a legit argument. I also am not confident anyone can beat them if they are at full strength in the NCAA tournament except maybe Kentucky and Gonzaga. I will pray nightly the Zion it shut it down for the season LOL I don't care I think it would be hilarious. I think they will drop the third in the polls behind Virginia and zaga
Duke wins Saturday I doubt they drop more than 1 spot. They have beat Virginia twice already so I don't see them dropping behind them. Add to that the love fest the pollsters have with Duke they won't punish them too bad, if at all for losing without their most popular player.
Duke will move up to #0...a placeholder spot in front of evryone until Zion can come back.
If Gonzaga spends one second at the top of the polls at this point in the season then the AP should just be done away with. Power five conference teams are killing each other every night and Gonzaga just floats along with very little stress. Put them in the ACC, SEC or Big 10 and they would have no fewer than six loses.
Having Reid out gives us the opportunity to get Nick to find that spark we need. This opportunity could be a blessing in disguise. Obviously we want Reid in Knoxville but if he isnt good to go, maybe its the catalyst for Nick and EJ. We should be fine against Auburn and Arkansas without Reid. But Id like to see us whip UT again and lock up a 1 seed for SECT and NCAAT.
I just thought about this in a Duke game the other night. Duke was up big on some team and a Duke player went in for a dunk on like the last play of the game. Just was wondering if K smoked him for shooting that shot.
