Brags about not having to watch film , thinks it's silly to run in bounds plays, never recognizes match up advantages we have, always has athletic advantage but rarely uses that to pressure and create tempo, seems to play it straight most of the time the hard way

Agree, these drive me nuts. We clearly have a talent advantage and for 20 seconds of the shot clock, it seems we stand watching someone dribble.

This is the type of team that wins the championship. That is if only losing 1 or 2 and gaining good recruits. This really is the perfect recipe for Cal to win it. Unfortunately 1 or 2 will turn into 3 or 4 or more leaving and totally destroy the chemistry. If Cal could somehow talk a few into returning, that is exactly the type of team that could win it all. These players were in close battles all season long and would bring back the kind of experience needed imo.

Hell no. The only way we win another title is if Cal gets sick starting in the S16 and isn’t there to do the “coaching” the last four games.

His coaching in this game was ****, No way to sugarcoat it.

He was very passive.

Got a completely idiotic technical.

Called a terrible trap. At least I think it was supposed to be a trap.

Didn't force the guys to get the ball to Knox.

Didn't call timeout at the end when Green drove a final stake through the heart of this season.

Started Richards who immediately muffed an easy dunk leading to 13-1 run.

He was BAD.

I don’t see how this season impacts a question like this. This team was incredibly flawed.

Long term absolutely Calipari wins another title. Hopefully it’s for us and not some other program because he gets tired of all our BS, and sky-is-falling knee jerk reactions, and bolts for a program that appreciates him.

I don't know about absolutely, this tournament is too WWE sports entertainment now to expect anything that deep from teams. What's amazing to think about is the teams that have won back to back seasons, but that's because elite groups turned down the NBA to do it, at least the last team did and they ALL came back...

He might, he might not, winning a championship is hard, even if you have the best team by far, anything can happen. Winning 6 games in a row is hard to do

Hey, these are sons. Cal is trying to say NC's don' mean anything but the kids. Can't give p on them. That was as bad a coaching performance as any tonight. I mean 2 UCONN games, Ollie being one, Wisky. Yes Cal you need to watch other teams on film, you need to change your approach. One GD NC with all those talented team. Come on

if Cal ever left for another school he may indeed win another title. It wouldn't be because of his great coaching or a slew of one and done players. He would get the very same type of players he had at Memphis who would be two to four year players. He never had the plethora of talent anywhere that he has had here, and he would never get that type of talent again unless he went to a UNC or Arizona type top tier school. He's not going anywhere. He might be stubborn but he ain't stupid.

This title wasn’t for the taking, we had serious flaws and were never going to get through that many games without a dud. Having said that I’m thinking 2012 will be his only title.
I agree! Cal will not be coaching at UK long enough to win another......:scream:

I don’t think he cares for the way our fans lash out at him, his family, and the players.

That may be enough for him to take another job.

I will say this , if I don't ever hear "we're young" again, it will be too soon

For $7 million/year, he gets well compensated for all of his trouble. Heck, UK fans ALLOW him to pump up the NBA angle ABOVE our own accomplishments while paying him this exorbitant amount of money.

As long as we can win and reach the Final 4, I don't care what he says about the NBA and how many leave. However, when we get beat in the Sweet 16 and STILL lose 4-5 players, with some not even guaranteed to be taken in the 1st round, I have a problem with the direction our program is going.

No I don't think he wins another one here, unless he changes his approach. (Coach K did) The model that seemed to be working in 2010-2015, isn't cutting it anymore. He is not getting the mega talent he used to get. But he still have ridiculous turnover year after year. Calipari blew a lot of NC opportunities, starting in 2008 in Memphis, 2014, and 2015. 2010 was another very winnable year, but we played WV like we did K-State tonight.

Not only these points but when KSU pressed we coulda had some transition buckets but walked it up and ran clock. I’m baffled by how disengaged cal was and the lack of adjustments. It doesn’t make sense like he was distracted all of them distracted

Who knows if he will win another title. I would say yes, but one thing I sure as hell know is that he will have them in contention each and every year.

It's hard to win the tournament, but it's nice to know that it will always be a fun ride because we are in the conversation each postseason.

Tonight sure did suck, but we will have our chance again next year. That's more than most programs can say and I will absolutely trust that a couple of these teams during the cal tenure will hang more banners

This group really should come back. I know it won't happen, but imagine if everyone besides Knox chose to come back? We would be hands down the favorite to win it all next year

Then why the hell do the same teams seem to win it all every season? I mean UNC Duke UCoNN lots of titles the last 20 years between these 3 programs. When you have 30 nba players what’s the excuse??

Who knows!

Someone posted that the Cats missed a golden opportunity.

But that's not true. Getting to the FF this year which no one thot could happen before all the upsets, would just have been fool's gold.

Had the Cats done that then Swaggy Cal could have silenced his critics. I don't mind Cal's swag but at some point you have to walk the walk.

Does Cal want to double down on his approach and continue to believe he's going to win it all with 5 frosh? Like I said, who knows. But if something doesn't change put me in the No column in response to the OP.

No = 64

Yes = 12

It’s confirmed. We have the worst fans. Just the worst.
I totally agree. And if he does win another title a lot of our fans ,mainly on here, sure wouldn’t deserve any of the joy from it happening.

THIs is why at this point he may no longer be the right fit. The other day cal was talking to leach and said “I still want to have an undefeated season”. We fans already have high expectations. When a coach comes in and say “I want an undefeated season, catch UCLA” all these crazy high expectations there is going to be a backlash when you view the body of work. Not all fans are the same and some more vocal than the others. Not to mention the emotional toll of the 2015 run that came up short. I wanted cal to get us to final four and get a shot at a title. I want cal to get a second title to shut up his detractors. I want cal to be at U.K. another 10 years winning a couple titles.

At the end of this remember. He elevated these expectations and it has caused bbn to go bananas. He had some control over it but now he doesn’t. He created a monster

He does, but he needs to teach the guys some better basketbally IQ and not deflect the blame to himself or youth... no reason for a lot of those fouls and time/juncture plays... and learn how to play depending on the whistle which will usually be unfavorable.

I think getting to the final 4 this year would have been nice given the golden opportunity of a path that opened up, but more than likely we would have lost in final 4 or title.....i figure the future could go one or two ways....either most of the team returns and we get another nice recruit next year and have a really really good team with a shot at winning it all followed by returning a few of them to add to a super class in 2019....or wr lose 5 or more guys this year, suck next year and Penny takes all his guys to menphis and the rest go to duke.....which would be the end....or something in between. I hate that we blew this opportunity but anyone watching this team this year should be more than aware of their tendency to throw in a real clunker out of nowhere.....lets hope Duke and Kansas loose this year, pull for a Loyola national title and hope for the best next year. I definitely dont want to hear cal pumping the draft, but you know he will.
