Until he gets guys who can hit free throws on a consistent basis,no.You don't hit free throws, you don't win the game.

Cal will NOT win another Title at UK. Not with his current approach to assembling a team. No shooters, relying too heavily on freshmen, low basketball IQ and bad decision-making. Cal will still win a lot of games in his time left at UK but, that's about all.

I don’t think so. Especially with the one and done coming to a conclusion. We’ve seen the way our teams finish without a quote unquote superstar. He really needs someone like that and without one we will unfortunately have results like tonight

My crystal ball is down right now, but anything could happen. We have blown some opportunities, but this year wasn't one of them. We blew the game tonight, but this team was not a championship caliber team. I do think it makes it much harder with so many freshmen, so hopefully we start getting some guys back.

So then the question becomes, ‘Who can?’

Not until he stops worrying about the stupid draft & quits slowing the ball down every possession. Bring these guys back so they can build their games & not push them out the door.

I don’t think so. His teams improve significantly over the season. He knows the right buttons to push. But, his end of game coaching isn’t very good, and he too often wants to slow the game down.

The Cal model is broken. He will never win another title. It took a transcendent player like Davis and an unexpected return of Jones to win his only title. Cal is being out recruited and his main focus is on developing players for the NBA. Two of the greatest recruiters in their respective sports (Saban - football and Calipari - basketball) had incredible runs at bringing in star studded classes. Difference is Saban has won 6 national titles and Cal 1.

Nope. Way too many blown opportunities.
Have to agree. Clearly I want him to win multiple titles here. But I hope we don't go the way of Dan Marino (who said he thought he'd get several chances and didn't) or Jim Kelly (who got several chances..).

2014 was the year for Cal to get another title. Kevin Ollie and UConn after surviving Wichita State, Louisville (who I think would've won the title if they beat us - vacated as it would've been), Michigan, and Wisconsin? I don't care if UConn had those explosive guards. THAT is arguably the worst loss I've ever endured as a UK fan. It still hurts, even more than 38-0 vs. Wisconsin because at least Wisconsin was good.

That’s not really a good comparison. I think we would’ve won a lot more had several players stayed 3 years, like in football.

I don't see it. Cal is starting to remind me of Joe B. Hall, who wasted more talent than Bobby Knight ever had....

I hope the hell I never hear him talking about catching UCLA again. Not only will he never win another one, he is going to likely let both UNC, Duke, and Kansas pass us before its all said and done.

I don’t see a loaded team next season at all.

Not sure where people are getting that from.

How will next year’s team be loaded and any better than this year’s team?

I don't think Cal picks up another championship. He's not a good coach and while he used to be the best recruiter in college basketball recently that just isn't the case.

Duke and UNC passing us is something that I am starting to worry about with every passing year. A title isn't easy but those teams just seem to keep finding ways to win them as we blow opportunities.

hopefully, we'll have a couple of shooters. would be neat to have a pass-first PG who could get it to shooters too.

No. His chance was 2014 and 2015. If he can't beat Kevin Ollie who got fired 4 years later or win with the greatest collection of talent in college history he never will again. He's just stealing money from UK at this point.
