May the best man win but I would rather see a younger dude like Lauck start as then we have someone that just not a one year dude… but if George is that good I am all for it…

who do you have starting at the left tackle position?

It's one of the most intriguing potions battles right now. Once a concern, not as much now. A lot of development and improvement has happened.

Dude earned All American honors as a Freshman. Yes, it was on the Division 2 level, but that's impressive nonetheless. LT is one of the most important positions in football, so I'd assume that it'll go to whoever is the better player, rather than who's younger or older. Protecting Mark at all costs is critical.

I don't care about younger dudes or older dudes. Let's start the best blocker.

For clarification, Jersey is also for the best player. But all things being equal, he'd prefer an underclassmen.

Hopefully there is some depth at the position and the winner of the job indicates someone who is playing good ball.

My guess is George.

I think the sky is the limit for this line.

Just keep handing it off

I read somewhere that George had struggled early on with the blocking schemes. Time will tell on him. There is a lot of talent to choose from, competition will be fierce.

And listening to him that is a guy with a lot of knowledge and doesn't seem like someone who will get the jitters.

Agreed, but if everything is equal, I like playing the younger tackle for next year, when we lose Myslinski, Logan, Dunker, Stephens & George.

Was he? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just can't find it and had looked back when he committed. From Hawkeyesports .com, his profile says he was 1st Team All-American as a senior and 2nd Team All-American as a junior (along with being a 2x All-Conference lineman).

Regardless, I'm happy to have him. Getting a big dude with accolades and a few rings is never a bad thing.

who do you have starting at the left tackle position?

You see, anyone with a double first name—Bryce George—has got to be magic. That name isn’t a simple label. It’s a charm. It’s a Southern‑grandma whisper and a lightning bolt rolled into syllables.
