I don't care about Kentucky basketball anymore. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, maybe it's because we suck, maybe because of our system, or a combination of the three, but I just don't care anymore. I didn't even know we played yesterday vs Auburn and didn't hear we lost until last night when my UofL friend told me. I use to make an effort to watch every game, but why would I watch a team that is tailspinning and participate in the toxicity of the fanbase/program right now? End of the day Calipari will get what he wants, which is his absurdly high paycheck and to get his rent-a-players to the NBA. Call me a fake fan or fair-weather fan, but I'm not gonna waste my time anymore with this program. Anyone else feel the same way or is that just me?

I have to agree, and I've been watching Kentucky basketball since 1966. My interest has definitely taken a big hit, and I don't believe I would miss work, not eat or sleep over a game, spend any amount of money to buy a ticket, or put a Kentucky game over any family activity like I use to....Losing and watching our favorite players leave every year has damaged my loyalty to the program...

When you really think about it it's silly to base your happiness off of how a group of 18 year olds play basketball. Maybe my perspective has changed after graduating college. I use to look up to these guys (college basketball players in general) as monsters and now I see them as kids. I could not care less about where these guys get drafted. Bleh

I just can not see Cal leaving this program in the shape it’s I at the moment which is why I believe he will do what ever it takes to get things going, his ego is to big not to. Wether it’s begging kids not to transfer or go pro to recruiting kids with a team first attitude. I think he deserves that right no matter how this season turns out.

It’s hysterical reading this board and seeing people weep and gnash teeth over a game. People take it so personally. I honestly hope KU doesn’t pass us because the suicide hotline will be off the hook

You have no idea what the real problem is.

Hint - It's not the current wins and losses.

Yes. But Son of Saul makes me want to care. I’m just too old.

Just don’t get the sense that they care about me anymore. I know- I’m just a fan. But the fact is....what this program cares about and what the majority of fans care about are different, and getting more divergent all the time.

I care, but I’m wait and see before I watch a game these days.

Is it competitive? Does it appear to not be sending the sport back 100 years based on the stats?

If I can answer yes to both questions, then I’ll watch the second half.

I will always care. I may not yell like I use to or let loses affect me like they use to, but I will always care.

Also, 99% chance we play on Saturday's. How could you not know we don't play?

This is the least I've cared in decades. I'm sure having small children and then COVID has had an impact, but year after year of the revolving door, barely getting to see any of these players before they're gone, and not watching them depart as upperclassmen has really worn me down. My parents were never in love with Calipari, and warned that he was destroying the program's rich tradition and pride in wearing the UK uniform even as we were going to the Final Four every other year ... "you'll see" ... and here we are?

I will always care and want to win. I just think its time for a fresh start for the program and fans, Coach Cal unwillingness to adjust and adapt has caused tension among the fan base. I hope he makes the right decision and moves on.

When I went to rupp last year for a game it was silent. You could hear a pin drop in that place. Rupp doesn’t sell out anymore when you used to never be able to get tickets. No one cheers, because they don’t know who they’re cheering for. It’s just not the same. We want our old UK back and cal is holding it hostage.

I still care. I will always care. But, as I age I don’t take it so hard or personally when a bunch of kids lose a ballgame.

In my 20s I punched holes in my own damn walls and even got in a bar fight with a UL fan over UK basketball. A couple decades later, I just turn the game off and go do something else because it isn’t worth getting upset over.

The giant elephant in the room is how the subpar results of the product on the court mixed with a liberal coach and conservative fanbase butting heads over social issues has created a **** storm of epic proportions. The political stuff has made the anger over the losing 3x as bad.

College basketball you love died back in the nineties and I miss it also but you have to adapt. Kids don’t care about these schools and I bet every player on every college team has one goal in mind and that’s NBA, problem is that most of them can’t make it so they stay in school.
As much as having John Wall and players like that helped UK it also kind of cursed UK too.
If a 3 star gets an offer from UK he automatically thinks he’s NBA caliber, he averages 10 points a game and enters the draft (the curse)
