Or is it just time to accept the fact Dana is not the guy WVU needs?

I say if your gonna make a change bring Rodriguez home or you might not get another chance.

Does a loss to TT get him fired?....this is really starting to become disturbing. ....yes our players made some mistakes, but once again the coach with odd decisions at the worst time. I was really pulling for Dana to take them to the next level...not happening....

3 TD drops have done WVU in tonight as well as missed opportunities on defense, especially in the 1st half. I still doubt WVU wins this one. TCU has a qb that has something special.

Howard still doesn't see the field and me in my 40s has a stronger arm.

To answer the question. Heck yes it would. 8-4 would be awesome, but the mistakes on offense have to stop. You can't drop wide open TD passes on the road vs top 5 team.

We can't blame Howard for this one. He really played fairly well given the circumstances.

We are asking him to complete passes that Manning or Marino are only going to complete half the time and they are elite. Its unfair to hold him to that standard.

Yes, the receivers dropped passes tonight. Good passes too. But, that comes from not knowing the nuances of the position and having the strength to go up and get it and pull it in. Look at the difference in Kevin White from year one and year two. I believe Durante has way more upside than Kevin White and he's in the NFL.

When the only routes are fly routes and the deep post, its going to hard for anyone to be successful. And that turd is all schematic.

Btw I'm not blaming anyone, Howard included. You win as a team. You lose as a team.

I'll disagree with Howard playing well. He played better simply by not throwing the rocketball into triple coverage and getting picked tonight, but he still had at least 5 bad plays. Some were just head scratchjng. He doesn't see the field and hes really a 1 read 2 read at most qb. He missed Crest tonight like he always does.

What game were you watching????? Same Sky I saw.....bad reads, bad passes. You may be alluding to the 3 drops and they would have helped his stats but would never had change things.....You throw 40 passes, I would hope he would be accurate on more than 4 throws.....

********! Skyler has had some bad games this year but not tonight. You can't drop three TD passes against a top 5 team. We really suffered from a few very bad pass interference calls on 3rd and long. I surely hope the Big XII reviews this officiating. Absolutely terrible.

8-4 saves him, no question. Closing 5-0, even against second tier competiton and he gets an extension.

7-5 and he's on the fence. Ihad thought he would be safe at 7-5 even though I personally would need to see spmething more than winning record. The very disappointing efforts during our 0-4 streak now make me think Lyons and Gee will also need more positive signs than a barely winning record. Unless we show some glimmer of being a good team with adequate coachin, the demand for change will be insurmountable.

6-6 or worse and he has to go.

So...we have one team on schedule with a marginally winning record and we get them at home and you think he would be safe at 7-5???? So, it is acceptable to be in bottom 3 of the Big 12

I will say that poor receivers add to the problelms created by a poor QB is not a compelling argument in favor of the coach who recruited all of them, but the receivers are young.

The old saying you can't coach speed comes into play. You can learn to make better reads and run better routes. Practice can omprove your hands. Gibson is a soph and Dutante and Sills are frosh. They have time to improve

Anyone can look at Howard and see the very limited potential but the receivers may have a good bit despite the poor night.

6-6 would not be a miracle. But for this team to finish with a winning record would a major achievement at this point.

I just don't see 8-4 happening. They're going to have fight like dogs to avoid 6 or less losses.

I won't say, at this point, that 6-6 would be lucky. But how much is left in the tank is a good question.

Now if they come out and flat out lose to TT then these guys are probably finished. But I'm not ready to predict that at this point.

They just lost 4 games in a row. Would you be excited to play the rest of the season? They just got drilled in front of the nation. Well most probably watched the Pitt game.

to go 8-4 means that means we beat only 1 team that is marginally good unless you consider Texas a good team then it will be 2.....

8-4 is putrid with the overall weakness of this schedule. The first three games were against pansies, and the next five are against third-tier competition.

The good teams smoked us. Embarrassing.

8-4 might be a tough call, but this team just might get on a late season roll and pull it off.

Third-tier competition - #2 #5 #12 #14. LOL. You are perfect for this free board.

Trust me on this one. Dana's is safe is he loses out the rest of the season. You can't hurt this man by terminating his contract. He is flush with cash..................thanks to WV administrators who made him the 'coach in waiting'. Word to the wise. Be careful what you ask for. You may get it. The next coach won't win any more games than Dana but will come at a high price. WV just cannot win in the Big 12. The Big East.....maybe. I understand this and accept it. WV cannot roll with the schools that have the BIG BUCKS!

WVU beat the Sec champion and big 12 champion when we where members of the big east and we had allot less money then. The amount of money hasn't stopped Boise state from embarrassing the power 5 teams and I'm sure that Baylor is probably pulling in more cash than the Central Florida team that put a beat down on them in the 2013 fiesta bowl. Wvu could compete fine in the big 12 with the right coach. I am glad that you aren't a member of the athletic department with your acceptance of mediocrity.

He's trying to be clever. Apparently some here appreciate his act.

I'm just enjoying the respite from Keaton. I figure he will return a safe interval after all the threads he filled with nonsense roll off the page and are forgotten.

While this is true. It can COMPETE. Holgs is not competing. He is getting destroyed.

No doubt winning 4 of the next 5 will save it. DH needs to get his team to regroup but there is no reason this can't happen

Yep, could possibably win 4 of last five...could get hot and run the board. Seems to be a team that shoots itself in the foot too often...but, can still win some games

If they win out (which I don't think they stand a chance in hell of doing) it means Dana may be safe for next season. I don't see any way they give him an extension. He's a piss poor coach. With puss poor QB recruiting. And he knows he's underperforming and on the verge of getting fired. And he doesn't know how to fix it. He's grasping for anything to give this team a spark. Including burning redshirts of freshmen. Which tells me he has no clue what is even wrong with the offense. Or doesn't have the needed personnel to fix it. And if we don't have it by now we prolly never will. Time to give someone else a chance!

8 wins should've been the mandatory goal considering it's proven impossible the last three seasons. anything short shows no progression or sign the program is moving forward. I just don't see any way they rally at this point to win 5 straight.

WVU is a top 25 program in all-time wins. Program has more all-time Ws than any in the current BXII other than TX & OU. people lose sight of that. other programs of that variety would move on to another coach if they had our recent results. UGA, for example, is upset with 9 & 10-win seasons, beating ranked opponents every year and winning bowls.

a 7-5 finish and a bowl win to get to 8 may save him. but if they fall at K-State in the finale & it's a sour taste, do Gee and Lyons wait on a bottom feeder bowl result to determine the future? & when other teams will be humming with their coach searches there in December? I doubt it.

I felt since the summer 7 wins ain't enough. & this would be the time to evaluate an extension because there's just 2 remaining contract years. can't recruit with that.

Yes 8-4 records saves his job and should. The teams we lost to records are 30 wins and 1 lost . But I'm not happy the way we been playing on offence or defense .
