Got to wonder how many of the people that want him gone we’re the same ones crying when Tubby was here.
Is there any legitimacy to asking for a better half court sets ? Or is that just more whining ? Are you good with every aspect of of this years team ? Plenty of smart basketball people here , nearly ALL are in agreement we need an offensive adjustment , either speed up the tempo or run sets with more movement . This! I would venture to say this fanbase would have some that wouldn't be happy with K's results. Don't get it twisted, I don't like him but he has had some great success, Kentuckykiddy, who must be 9 already said K and Cal can't coach
NO!, I get as upset as any fan does after a loss. But I still remember the bad Tubby years and Billy G. Cal is my coach.
I've thought the same thing, but then ask myself if I were the best shooter in the class would I want to come here? Cal does not showcase shooters. Plus it is not common that the best shooters are lockdown defenders. That will get you a quick hook playing for Cal. There are many better options for shooters than UK currently. Players like Herro are a rare breed.

Considering at the end of almost every season we are just a few plays away from a FF, Heck No and another Billy Gillespie could be lurking if we stupidly chase off calipari.

Apples and oranges. I don’t have to be a coach to see that a team is disorganized and confused, and don’t run but one type of play offensively or defensively. To see that requires no specific training like a dentist has to go through.

Cal has won 80% of his games and is one front lone player away from one of the top incoming classes ever. Need tweaks but a few close losses in Nov December are weighing too heavily on our minds. Cal will win another National championship at UK with modest changes. Sports change and 18 year olds struggle to win NCAA games. Bet Cals class next year gets one.
If he loses Saturday against looieville , (3 L's in a row) It's going to get REAL in the "STATE" of Kentucky basketball.

Maybe he needs to reboot his thinking, and coach like he's climbing the mountain again instead of on top of the mountain. Burnout is a concern. It is difficult to recreate hunger, but can be done.

right now I just want him to change assistants and the offense....
but.......... if we get butt raped by officials next year with the players we're gonna have..and Barnhart being chairman of the NCAAT committee..... then it will tell me for absolute sure they wont let Cal win another title and then I'd just be ready for a coach that wouldnt be butt raped by officiating and the NCAA...
and by butt raped ... I'm talking 2015 and 2017 losses and last years last 10 minutes of regulation with 0 fouls on Auburn type of butt raping.
and even then I know you cant fire Cal....... I'd just be looking forward to him retiring and not because I hate cal... but only because its depressing thinking how will the NCAA stop us from having a chance at the title this time...

The poster said if he takes more pride to get players to the nba than winning championships at UK he needs to be replaced. That’s why it got so many likes. It wasn’t straight up let’s get rid of cal. I honestly don’t know the value of a championship vs putting 3 guys in the nba to cal. If he does in fact value the nba successes more than winning titles then yes he needs to go because he will never adjust things. Idk what’s in cals heart but if it becomes apparent that all the talk he uses to lure recruits is really what he believes then this isn’t the right job for him anymore.
Here’s the problem with cal. He coaches today like he did when he got here. The same offense, the refusal to implement a zone or even a full court press. Doing whatever it takes to win and going out of his comfort zone if need be. It’s all the same. Utah he didn’t change things up until the game was too far out of reach when we were down 17. Ohio state he coached the last 3 minutes the same as the first three even though we were down 3-5 points all game. What did he think? That doing the same thing would swing the results? This is the problem. It goes to the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. He has the same inept staff that cannot reel in the big fish or help cal in game. Same problems same results.
Here is where I stand. I want cal to be successful at UK. I want him to win a couple more championships. I want him to retire from coaching while at UK. I think he does a lot of great things for Lexington he cares about the people of Kentucky. He has a big heart and teaches his players the right type of values. We don’t have a bunch of behavior problems. Being successful at UK as men’s basketball coach is more than that though. If he isn’t willing to adapt and do what it takes to win titles though. If he’s going to put a player or even players and their nba dreams ahead of titles. If he’s going to stay in the fixed mindset that nothing is wrong well then imo as with any stale professor with tenure then he should move on to something else.
Where we are trending is a big concern to me as a fan. Sure he may get it together by February but by then we will have a 5-6 seed ceiling and like 2013 an injury away from an nit.
We miss the tournament this year or even get bounced in round one of the ncaa watch out. Cal will lose everyone who is on the fence about him.
