Definitely regrets the way he did it but I'm honestly thinking he regrets bringing his staff from Oregon St. He's had to fire some of them and the one's who have survived will be unemployed in 3 weeks.
Impossible to know, but doesn’t seem like Oregon would have lit up Banker for 42 in a half. NIU won in spite of being shut down, so that one is out.
Wisconsin wore down an inspired Husker D. So let’s say same outcome. Ohio State same. Maybe Northwestern and Minnesota turn into wins. 6-4 instead of 4-6 I guess would be possible.

NIU made a play at the end of the game to put them in position to win the game because a backup safety blew his responsibility in Diaco's scheme. I think he probably would have known what to do in Banker's scheme. Maybe not. I think we win that game, Oregon and NW with Banker. JMHO.
Don't think he keeps Dub. New coach will need someone to teach receiver blocking. Also Dub has not really closed on the bigger receivers and left a couple slots void of scholarship players the last couple of years.
And lost Derion Grimm when he was away for a month under house arrest.

From a professional pride stand-point, he definitely regrets taking this job. It's been an epic failure at every level.
