I have Twitter but I never post. Have it curated for sports & a couple comedians I like. This site & Reddit are my 2 biggest time wasters social media wise.
My wife had a twitter acct she posted on occasionally. Maybe 50 followers. Woke up one day after Elon bought it & her acct was deleted. She joined Bluesky & now has 2500 followers from posting pictures of our cats. So if anyone can tell me how to monetize the crazy cat owners community, lmk.

Very few people respond to the comments of their rage bait posts.
They just crop dust and slither into the next room and listen and wait for the reactions.
It's like if I went to the football board on this site and said "This is the truth. Clemson cheated to win their titles and now they're going back to being trash. South Carolina is now the premier football program in the state", and then never returned to reply to any of the triggered comments (though I'm absolutely lurking to read them).

This describes me social media wise. This site being my primary.
As for monetizing the cats. Start taking short videos of them throw them up on Shorts or Reels. People cling to that ****. Work with a guy who puts his German Shepherd playing in the backyard with a stupid voice over asking if you'll be his friend. Been doing it for like 12 months and already hit earners status on those platforms.

I have a Twitter account that I started back in 2009. I probably have posted maybe 20 times in those 17 years. It was a much better platform before it became X. Now it's mostly trolls and bots, but it's still the easiest way to find a video, news or sports story, and post it on a message board. It's too bad it's not regulated better because it has a lot of potential for quick sharing of information world wide in ongoing situations.
I yeeted X when they made the checkmark pay for amplification. It immediately stopped showing me things I was interested in and started showing me things I didn’t care about.
I don’t have the time or patience for that.
