Do we even need Oscar?

Ware is the tough guy on the floor. You need a bruiser when the other team starts pushing our players around. Maybe Cal wants that toughness to protect the others.

Ware has been here three years we ALL know what he gives you and it is not much. Can’t score at all. 40% FT shooter. Misses easy shots around the rim and even dunks. He blocks a random shot or dunks a lob and people go bananas. He has five fouls. That is the only consistent thing in his play. He is not talented at all. He has zero post moves. Everything comes really difficult for him. If that big euro for Tennessee starts acting a fool. I am all about lance coming in and trying to get in his head.

Ugonna is a young shot blocking machine that shows a lot of promise. He needs to play and play now to get as much experience as possible before our bigger games and march. With him and Collins backing up Oscar. Only then will our team reach their full potential to go along with our other pieces.

Don't disagree with most in fact I was telling my wife last night how much I think Ugonna is going to help us. However, I still like Ware's toughness and he has on occasion pushed back to the point where he gets in to trouble but only when other teams start pushing and shoving. I just like his willingness to mix it up a bit. Again, that may be why Cal likes him is all I am saying.

I disagree.

When we’re at full strength, guys that deserve to play will not play. So we actually have an overload.

Also, we don’t need Lance Ware. Never have. Never will. Should just be a big body to practice against. That’s it. And hopefully very soon that’s exactly what he will be.
I disagree with this. You never know when foul trouble will hit. I do like Ugonna's shot blocking, of course, so he may take some of Ware's minutes. But what happens when you run into a situation where you need strength and toughness more than shot blocking? Ugonna is pretty thin and may get pushed around this season. He's also a bit awkward out there at times. That may change as the season progresses. We shall see. I will agree that Ware is likely not going to be getting a bunch of minutes unless we're blowing teams out. And that may happen quite a bit, by the way.
