I was thinking the same thing. They'll be allowed to grab, push, hold and literally pound on Richards and Washington down low. I think the only way we win is if we keep the turnovers to 10 or less.

Arkansas started hot, cooled off, and is playing well again. I expect them to be be favored and look forward to seeing how UK plays. Would be nice to pick up a SEC road win after a good game against Bama.
Because of the athletes you have, length wise. It would speed up the game even more. Do you disagree?
Not really, but the press we’ve used is for disruption and to slow the offensive progress, not to steal or turn the ball over...

From the way these pieces of **** run their mouths, you'd never guess that they haven't been to the Sweet 16 in 22 years, and are 7-10 overall in the tournament during that span.

I used to think it was just Anderson's style that caused his teams to be like that, but the more Arkansas fans I interact with, I think that's just how they live and behave.
When you haven't been past the Sweet 16 since I was in kindergarten and your state motto is "Thank God for Mississippi," it isn't hard to understand the rage, but what I'll never figure out is why a bunch of people who see how miserable that place is blame any kid for leaving to better themselves.

1. Arkansas plays thug ball.
2. Arkansas players will try to hurt Kentucky players.
3. Kentucky never gets a "favorable whistle" on the road.
4. Kentucky is every opponents "Super Bowl".
That's just four of the many that come to mind, but I am sure there will plenty more excuses before the game even starts. Oh by the way, I heard that we brought in John Higgins to call the game, he couldn't pass up the "Walton" payoff!

May be one game Anderson may wanna lay off the press. Kentucky is an awful big team, to be trying it on. West Virginia and Louisville is both hard pressing teams as well and it shredded both of them..
I just don't see it, yet. Arkansas is going to play like a top15 team, you can bet on that. We're going to have two players in severe foul trouble, you can bet on that, too.

No, you're likely to win because we aren't very good. Your points apply on years where we're the clearly superior team so your coach tries to turn the game into a street fight and assume they can't call every foul because his team can't win a basketball game.
We are a very good shooting team (except free throws), and in my opinion a better overall team than West Virginia and Louisville, but our defense can be absolutely horrendous at times. Home court will definitely help, and we need this win more than Kentucky, but I expect a close game that can go either way.
We mostly can't throw it in the ocean, so your press should help us get things flowing and allow some easy buckets.
We defend well, but often make freshman mistakes as bad times and give up easy buckets, especially along the back line when we go zone or off the PnR if we don't switch properly out front.
Some of our guys seem to shrink on the road, while contact/aggression make others rise to their actual abilities.
Honestly, nearly all of our guys are so hit or miss on a given night that we really never know what to expect. We probably won't get blown out, but it won't surprise any of us to be down 15-20 at any certain point before clawing back to make it look respectable. We might also be up 6 with 3 minutes left and turn it over four times and lose.
If we defend the three like we have been, finish easy plays, and turn it over 12 times or less, I think we win.
If you shut down the three, you probably win. Your three point defense percentage is very good, but I can't understand why. Having a Kentucky wife we watch almost all of your games and it seems like your opponents get many multiple wide open, uncontested three point shots and miss, with Auburn and Florida immediately coming to mind.

I'll admit that I don't view us in the same way the numbers suggest we play defensively.
I don't know if our length is actually bothering shooters as we close out, or if even the "open" shots are rushed because they know we're on our way to challenge the shot, but you're right that it seems Knox and Gabriel are always late closing out on a shooter.
Maybe that's strategic. Maybe we funnel the ball to a poor shooter and give them enough room to let it fly. But in the Alabama game it felt like I watched John Petty take six wide open threes. That can't be our gameplan and you can't attribute those misses to defense.
At this point, maybe we're lucky. It'd be about time after watching 8-17 squads make everything against us for my entire life.
We have several capable shooters from deep, but Barford and Macon are the key. If they are left wide open and miss, game over. CJ Jones is very dangerous as well, but doesn't play nearly as many minutes and has been in a terrible slump.

Haven't seen the Hogs at all this year but it doesn't matter. If the good UK shows up (would be maybe the 3rd time all year) then they should win.
That said, all SEC home teams won this past weekend. Road games will be difficult for all SEC squads from this point on unless it's in Oxford.

Fair enough, but one the thing this team can do is shoot, especially at home, so if the three is left wide open like your guys do so often, it may be a different story. Defensively, I think we should play an aggressive zone and protect the lane since you lack shooters, Coach Anderson will probably see it differently.
UK is like one of the three best 3 point defenses in the country. You do realize that right?

As I stated earlier, I am more than aware of the statistics, but I have watched virtually all of your games, and for whatever reason, your opponents, Auburn and Florida just to name two, have missed numerous wide open three point shots. If they are left wide open like I have seen so many times throughout the season, Barford and Macon won't miss those at home.
Arkansas has fouling issues and rebounding issues on defense.
If we do anything great on offense, it's rebounding and getting to the line.
