My freshman year they couldn't give away football tickets but by my senior year the place sold out every game because they had a good team. Same goes for basketball. I live in Cincinnati and have zero respect for their fans except for a select few. I literally know less than ten UC fans who live and die by UC. The rest obsess with UK and would rather see a UK loss than a UC win. They don't pay attention to UC until the tournament and when UC loses in the tournament they just begin rooting against teams. It must be a Cincinnati thing because Bengals fans are the same way.
EXACTLY!!! They're all the same. Fairweather..
Saying they are all the same is just the same as when people say all UK fans are obnoxious and arrogant. Not all UC fans are fair-weather and not all UK fans are obnoxious and arrogant. It's all a matter of who you know. I know some good UC fans, I know some bad ones. I know some great UK fans and I know some that aren't as great. The ones you know may not be the greatest fans but I know plenty that are die hard UC fans.

Nothing to apologize for. I just feel as if on this board we have a tendency to overgeneralize fan bases on here. It's really about the people you know that are fans of the program where we get these impressions.

I will say UC fans have not done a good job on attending games. The attendance at their basketball games is atrocious with the exception of a few games each year. As others have alluded to, college basketball is not the marquee thing around town. We have the Reds, and Bengals that dominate the talk. Not that those teams are overly successful but that's what drives the interest of Cincinnati. In Lexington, people might be more die hard about UK and less devoted to their NFL, or MLB teams.

Yes and I am one to an extent. If that's a problem for you, you have bigger problems than a message board.

They
hate Cronin with the passion btw. Something about following a legend
which is nonsense if you recall their former coach. haha

If UK doesn't win by 15, I'll be shockingly disappointed. Turrible matchup for them on paper.

I live in NKY and have a friend who is originally from ohio but currently lives in ky and he's a uc and ohio st fan. He hates uk so much that he consistently talks crap to get me mad but I just laugh at him because like everybody else, he's soooo jealous of Calipari and UK it's really funny.

I lived in nothern Ky until 2003. I'm fine with cincinnati now but until I left I hated them more than Louisville because of their fans, Cincinnati radio, and Bob Huggins. I had some seriously heated arguments back in the day about whether Keith Bogans was better than Kenny Satterfield.

i'm from ky but have lived near cinci most of my life, and uc fans are fans when their team is having a good year. most of them couldn't tell you anything about uc sports in the off season when the band wagon is in the barn. tosu fans are pretty much the same, at least in the cinci area. the day after tosu won the fball nc i saw droves of people wearing tosu hats, jackets and sweatshirts who i never even knew were fans. you'll rarely hear tosu/uc sports even discussed on local radio sports shows except during the season.

When I was younger my friends who were UC fans were the worst. They were always giving me a hard time about UK. As life went on I lost touch with most of those people. The UC fans I do know are not bad at all towards UK. That drastically changed how I feel about UC, I actually root for them as they normally don't cross paths with UK. Ironically enough one of the miserable UC fans has turned into a diehard OSU fan who rips on UC any chance he gets. He went to OSU so it makes sense why he switched but to rag on his childhood favorite team epitomizes everything I hate about OSU and their fans.

Die bard UC fan here. I grew up in Cincinnati, but didn't go to school there and now live in New York City so I cant really speak to the current state of the fan base.

As far as my views towards UK. Respect the program, respect the passion and dedication of the fans I will say that I have hated Calipari since he was at Memphis and UC was in CUSA with them.

If you are looking for a UC board, check out the board already linked or the 247 board. Both are pretty active. I'd say from reading those boards that the vast majority >99% are very realistic about our chances tomorrow. Most are expecting a at least a 15-20 loss. But that's why they play the game, right?

I have a friend who is a Syracuse fan and rips on Cal for being a cheater and every other insult we've heard 1000 times. The irony.
