Every now and then you have to get lucky and one of your four stars becomes a stud. I don’t know if the schools recruiting him saw the talent or that’s just typically the level where they have to recruit (Nova, FL, BC, ND). Although, after seeing the list of offers I think it’s the latter as no real blue bloods there.
We should also recognize and give Cal credit for doing much the same for SGA, we just didn’t have as many pieces around him and an added cudo because he made the leap in one year.

Also Please no more Jay Wright program builder/ OAD haters, etc. I am just commenting on how much DiVincenzo has developed since HS. Credit to him.

Michigan is getting owned on teh offensive boards. Cannot let a deadly shooting team get that many second chance points. Just murdered no the boards. And our boy Charles still has zero offensive game.

Really enjoy watching DiVincenzo play, but will ESPN hype him like they did Grayson Allen for the rest of DiVincenzo's career? Kid doesn't trip anyone, just plays. But he lacks the classic white boy/choir boy look. Or will he go pro after showing out at on the biggest stage? Haven't seen him on any mocks whatsoever, it'll be interesting to see how he's talked about after this game.

Once Nova gets into a groove on offense is OVER. Damn impressive to watch.

Absolutely. It reminds me of Pitino's offensive philosophy when he was at UK, especially his last few years. Play loose and free where everyone can shoot the three. Jay Wright has really done a great job of establishing an identity for Villanova and getting guys that fit his system.

the key is evaluating talent not the stars we have some 5* right now that can barely play a lick of basketball these recruiting services have started rating based on potential not talent while watching basketball this year saw at 3 centers freshman at that who would have dominated nick not bashing don't know how he was rated over some of them

This is what you want in a ball player. What he lacks in physical gifts he makes up for with intensity and focus. The guys expression doesn't move. I bet he's a coach someday.
What I liked about his game and Nova's game was when they had a solid lead with 10 minutes left they didn't slow the game down and try to hold on for the win. They kept playing with intensity and kept running their offense. It was fun to watch that and I learned you can actually win a game doing that. I was not aware of that.

Cal and his staff saw all these guys in AAU, remember Slice talked Cal into Briscoe. Wright just has been unbelievable at getting these guys and developing them.
