Anyone else think we are going to have to turn away some fairly talented recruits? It appears we still have a legit shot with the following recruits and there is no way we can take more than 7:

4* Cam Jones (S)
4* Caleb Tannor (OLB)
4* Jarret Bell (OL)
4* Tyrone Sampson (OL)
4* Jashaun Corbin (APB)
4* Nikko Hall (WR/CB)
4* Mario Goodrich (CB)
5.7 3* Taiyon Palmer (CB)
5.7 3* Daniel Carson (SDE)
5.7 3* Andre Hunt (WR)
5.7 3* Ta'zhawn Henry (APB)
5.7 3* John Jackson (ATH)
5.6 3* J Jean-Baptiste (OLB)
5.6 3* Joshua Ezeudu (OL)
5.6 3* Matthew Tago (QB)
5.6 3* Kendrick Torain (S)

Great list, I'm sure I've missed a few and it still doesn't include recruits with a 5.5 3* ranking and lower. I know I want more than 5-7 of them!

I think Goodrich, Carson, Palmer, and Jean-Baptiste are all out of the picture.

Jones and Bell should be in. I like Tago because he could play a few other positions if QB doesn't work out.

The max number for the class that I’ve seen is 24. Minus the two transfers, that’s 22. So we have 4 spots left. Cam Jones has long been in the mix, maybe one of the OLinemen, Henry, Corbin or a RTBNL.

Corbin out

Carson seems out

With the pick up of Watt, WR done

If Bell in, Sampson out (true to numbers not position)

Goodrich has been out for awhile

If such a thing exists, that’s a good problem to have. I’ll leave to the professionals to sort it out. :)

Frost seems to be getting the players that his schemes need and getting them now. That's what he needs to do in order to change the culture and to be able to fully install his offense.

We have Adrian Martinez, who can be good, but I think we need another "better than decent" QB to come in as well. I am not sold that Tago is that QB from watching film. He seems nothing like Martinez, but he is huge and wouldn't shy away from contact. Is he accurate enough in the passing? Who knows.

I was really hoping that he would get a second good quality QB in order to have a more than capable backup that fits his offense. (Yes, we have Gebbia and POB. I can see Andrew Bunch doing well in this offense though.) This one position could be the difference between winning 6 games and winning 9 games. Very important.

OT and DB are still a current issue that seems to be somewhat ready to fixed with a couple guys looking to be N. Gotta trust this staff though. So far they look great! GBR!

On offense, yes. But, OLB pass rushers and CB’s are a much bigger need, overall.
Yes CB is a huge need. We have no true cornerbacks on the roster and none that we are recruiting. I wonder if some of those receivers could transfer over and play corner. We have plenty of small fast receivers that are typical of the size of most cornerbacks.

From what I've seen at UCF, Chinander likes to play a lot of man defense and when you have a secondary full of safeties, I don't think that's going to go over well.

That's why NU is offering an unrated JUCO CB and another HS kid who is about 5'9" That is the only area of need (a big one) where maybe the coaching staff hasnt closed on as well as we need.

With the pressures the New DC runs a good portion of the time- those CBs need to be very good in man coverage

We signed Deontai Williams at corner. I think we will sign one more.

Jackson, Bootle, Lee, Anderson, were all highly-rated corners out of high school. They have been disappointing so far, but maybe Fisher can coach them up. I'm also curious about where Tony Butler will fit in.

Not that it really matters, but there are 14 teams ranked ahead of Nebraska all sporting a lower average star rating. “Keep on the sunny side” as the song goes...

I love Deontai Williams. The problem though is he seems like a hybrid who can play both safety and cornerback well, but won't be particularly great at either. Those type of players are great if you run a lot of zone schemes, but like I said I think Chinander likes to go man a lot based on what I've seen of UCF.

The real disappointment would have been another year with smiling mike and all the "coulda, woulda, shoulda, hip hip hooray" and other crap associated with his mythical recruiting machine. This is a great position to be in, and the new staff is just getting started.

Yeah the looming disappointment for the kids who are left out of this class. Hop on whilst you're able, it's unavoidable and stinks we can't just take 'em all. With a Scott Frost yell, MORE MORE MORE! #gbr

Based on the fact that this class is less than a full recruiting cycle and you've got the movement from one location to the next and everything else that has been put in place to limit the success of a successful recruiting class, if this is a failed class or a disappointing one is some of you want to say then unless we get an Alabama Georgia Ohio State recruiting class each and every year you'll never be happy. Are you the type of people that look down and find a $20 bill and get pissed off at wasn't a 50?

It is simply amazing how many people in this thread assume I'm disappointed with the class we will sign. The title was always to say that Frost and Co has so many decent options available that its disappointing that we won't be able to take more than 5-7 of them. People are so determined to be butt hurt about everything that they automatically assume the most negative thing possible. Anyone who says that Frost and Co's first class does anything other than exceeds expectations hasn't been paying attention to our last 3 transitions.

Herbie could stab me in the eye with a pitchfork, and I wouldn’t be disappointed in anything regarding Nebraska football right now.

Says the guy who admits he's disappointed.
